During the scene in the bar at the start, when the 2WO (the high pitched guy) and Werner are talking, they down a drink after saying "Prosit, Leutnant, to the freichor Tonitz"

What does that mean?

Freikorps Dönitz was the "nickname" given to the Ubootwaffe because most of the officers and men were volunteers. :ping:

Yeah, I noticed that too. The guys who did the subtitles weren't the very best.

I own the Director's cut video, the director's cut DVD and the full mini-series DVD and the subtitles are by far and away the best on the Video, for some reason. They are quite a bit less politically correct for a start (EG: more filthy! :p )and seem to be more accurate with the details.
