has anyone gone for maximum range and seen how far they could go? and what the other ports are like? are there glaciers? Is there any traffic around other ports? sorry im new to this game and series and have only about 20hrs into the game (but i love it so far, despite its nags) maybe you get assinged missions outside of the pacific later?... if its worth it id love to go exploring... check the places i know.

With unlimited fuel in the options you can keep on going :D

Not sure if the Panama Canal is there, else it's 'round the Horn.

With the Mission Editor, you can start from New York, the Atlantic, or any place you like.

Not as yet but then I'm currently causing havoc in Japanese waters. I've travelled over 3400nm so far on just over 27% fuel used (at 1/3 speed, 8kts)

had a conversation with someone about this yesterday. I wondered if the dev team has tought of the statues at easter island (it isnt called easter(egg) island for nothing now is it?).

Havent gone to check myself (its kinda way out in the wrong direction...).

Maybe some giant turtles on the beach at the galapagos islands? Who knows...
