I stumbled across this on E-bay yesterday. This is one of the helmets worn by John Wayne in the movie Operation Pacific. Imagine putting this on as you hit the GQ alarm. :arrgh!:

That may be true in the army; in the navy you shouldn't be close enough that they can read your helmet. On the other hand, everybody on board knows who the skipper is.
