First off no complaining about SH4 here...

Now this is weird, My intro for silent hunter 4 seems to have been compiled by Bernard, or hippies.:rotfl:

I've got this too... I'm not sure what causes it, or what SH4 uses to play the intro movies, but I also had the same problem with some of the downloadable movies that were on the official SH4 site. I've tried updating the various codecs/media software, display drivers etc. on my machine to rectify it, but to no avail. Everything else seems to be fine.
Has anyone managed to fix this problem?
Am I just being really stupid? :o

It has something to do with the newest Windows Media Codecs. They should install with the game :hmm:

- Need the newest Windows Media codecs
- Must not have other codecs installed that interfere with above

I'd uninstall any third-party codec packs. FFDSHOW, for example, seems to pretty often cause instability in games, so is usually a good idea to uninstall anyway. DivX (latest release), Quicktime, and Windows Media are really the only absolutely STABLE codecs to run. While it sometimes seems nice to support 'the little guy' and/or free or open source media, it's better for system stability and functionality to just stick with the big companies that actually have the resources to QA their product.

As a final point, the video card could be an issue - both nVidia and ATI nowadays 'accelerate' movie files (and 'hardware assist' deblocking, interlacing, etc). Make sure you have the latest drivers for these.
