Guys, I've used time compression and my sub isn't being repaired.

Make certain you don't still have "Silent Running" engaged. Even when surfaced, that prevents repairs and reloading of torpedoes.

I can not tell, is the repair button pressed on? Silent running off? Repair system does work. I have a thread on it.

I've not used silent running in the game so far. At all!

Look here. Damage control works. Again, is the repair button pushed to on? I can not tell you do not have the mod that turns buttons green when active.

Known bug with the Deck/Guns. They can't be permanently repaired. Oh, and anyone you leave on the Deck will eventually die. Have fun~!

But you should be able to see that his Damage Control Team section has a dark grey background, meaning it's activated.

Try placing a man in the AA box, and the two swabs in the Deck Cannon slot.

They are empty and maybe only those will fix it in the comparment.

Plus make sure you are on the surface. I would think you could not repair under water those items. I see that you are surfaced, never mind.

What does the status bar look like on the side? It looks to be at zero, but the item is still red?

I'm surprised you guys aren't aware of the bug. You must never take any damage to your deck.

To reapair the flak gun and cannon,You HAVE to have a crew member assigned to the gun and ACTIVATED. As soon as the gun is repaired, remove the crew member or they will get injured when the gun breaks again 15 minutes later.
No repairs to the guns will be made if there is no crew assigned and ACTIVATED.
The dedicated repair crew will not repair the deck gun or flak gun. As far as the entenae, not sure. Move injured crew to other non-damaged compartments and place them in sleep mode by moving them one shift foward in the crew rotation. Injured crew do not repair very well.

"Known bug with the Deck/Guns. They can't be permanently repaired. Oh, and anyone you leave on the Deck will eventually die. Have fun~!"

There are two identified items with crew deaths that can be worked around. Your deck crew is not doomed.
1) As I have mentioned above, remove crew assigned to the flak gun. It gets re-damaged every 15 minutes and each time it does, your assigned crew (active or not) gets increasingly injured. Your watch crew is not affected.
2) Do not save and restore a game within 10 minutes of in IMPENDING crew watch change. Save the game after the change. If a watch change is due to occur within 10 minutes of a game restore, your active crew will have their health subtracted.

I always fill all the available damage crew positions. i consider teh damage and use guys with skills applicable to the damaged system. I only use guys with mechanical and electrical skills and attributes. I load up on mechanical skills for most repairs and load up as many electrical guys as possible for sensory systems(radar, antennas, sonar, radios, etc) and for batteries and electric motors.

Im not sure if that all matters, but ive had no problems with the couple of repairs ive needed when I followed that pattern.

Like I said, anyone you leave on the Deck will eventually die. The only way to avoid that is to manually cycle the crew. And there's nothing you can do if you actually want to make use of your guns. I've also had the issue pop up with damaged periscopes, where you just end up getting spammed with periscope repaired/periscoped damaged messages.

This is the main bug that has made me stop playing until it's fixed.

"Like I said, anyone you leave on the Deck will eventually die."

In over 100 hours of play, I do not experience this. I have not had ONE crew die although I've taken deck gun and flak gun damage. Crew get injured and die under specific circumstances that are avoidable. It's possible to keep them from dying.

Yes, it's possible to keep them from dying.. _if you manually cycle them from watch_ .

Once your 'Deck Watch' is damaged, it can never be repaired (permanently), and any crew left on the Deck will start to lose health. If you leave them there, they'll die. This has been discussed quite a bit, there's even a mod in the mod forum that attempts to solve the issue by making the conning tower invulnerable, but unfortunately it doesn't fix the problem.

If you haven't experienced damage to the 'Deck Watch,' then you're not going to experience that bug. Horrgakx's 'Deck Watch' IS damaged in his screenshots, and if he doesn't keep an eye on his crew, they'll die. It can take some time depending on how much damage there is, but I guarantee if he leaves the game running on high time compression for a few minutes, his watch crew will start dropping like flies.
