Hey All,

Tried some searches and couldnt find what i was looking for... Im assuming 1 post like this might help alot of people....

What are the differences between Mark 10 and Mark 14...

Clearly the 14 LOOKS bigger.... but there has to be a 'benefit' of the smaller mark 10..

Im not looking for 'historical' data... Im looking for real in-game pros/cons/tatics..

When/Why/How should i use a Mark 10?
When/Why/How should i use a Mark 14?

The mark 10 is an old, WWI torpedo for use on an old WWI boat.
There's no 'benefit' to it.

The mark 14 is the (for the time) 'modern' fancy torpedo, but..it's bugged as in 1.1, because the high speed setting is too slow, but hey-look on the bright side-it dosen't run too deep like the real one did.

Unless you're in an S-Boat, you should never need, want, or use a Mk.10
The Mk.14 (for better or worse) is the U.S. standard war torpedo.

In game, I'd use the Mk.14 at high speed (add 2-4kts to the speed calculation) with the influence exploder, aiming for about 5 feet under draft. Seems to get good results.
The exploder dosen't appear to be buggy-duds and preemies happen (as far as I can tell) equally to both exploders.

Yup, the Mk 10 is for the S-Class boats. It is a WW1 torpedo. The S-Class had shorter tubes then the fleet boats, so they couldn't upgrade to the Mk 14.

I use Mk 10s and they've done very well for me. Mainly because I dont get any duds or deep runners...I play on 100% Realism
