!st Post - Neutral ports

Ahoy ahoy, I've been meaning to register on here for about 18 months now but a failed search on this subject has finally forced my hand.
I know, I should have joined a lot earlier.:oops:

Playing GWX1.3, 1941, out of L'Orient in a IX/B, I've often visited Porta Delgada in the Azores if I've enough diesel left over. Every time so far (April-July 1941) there's been the same vessels, about 10 Portuguese of various sizes, a Brazilian merchant and 2 British - a modern medium tanker and a small merchant. The usual form is , I sink the British vessels with no resistance from anyone. Easy renown points so I thought.

Having scored just 670.73 on my last excursion for the aforementioned 2 ships and an Anson, patrolling the assigned zone for 24 hours and returning to base - on 57% realism - I wonder - Is sinking the British ships regarded as negative renown due to them being in a neutral port?:-?

Yeah Neautral Ports are Amazing, If u want to sink lots of tankers head down the the sunny beaches of the Carribean, its Faboulous, hahaha. :up:

The best kind of ports to raid are English Ports, hahaha, im the expert on harbor raiding, if u have any questions just ask, ive been to almost all ports, English, Canadan and American, plus Neatrals, hahaha.

Have you perfected the art of sinking tankers in port with one fish? Past discussion in other threads has focused on how to sink tankers with the fewest number of fish. I have never encountered a tanker in deep water yet, so I cannot comment on the probability of sinking a tanker with one fish to the engine room over deep water, but it doesn't work in port because the stern hits bottom. Using magnetic pistols under the aft edge of the forward superstructure (where the back breaks) results in a 30% sink probability (broken back), and a second fish to the engine room with a contact pistol results in a 60% sink probability (if the back didn't break with the first fish). Past posts describing one-fish techniques do not specify depth under keel at the time, and having tried them I assume their effectiveness is restricted to deep water. The port I raid most often is Hartlepool, and I am currently exploring whether the same problem is present in other ports. Barring a variation in keel depth, I don't anticipate any difference.

Most ports are very shallow bar a couple in the Caribbean
Had a BB sit his arse on the floor more than once and not count as sunk
