I was curious about what the author of the book, (Edward Beach, who I think is an awesome writer.) hated so much about the film?

If you read the book, and then watch the movie, it won't surprise you to find out that Burt Lancaster was (I think) Executive Producer of the Movie.

Oh... forgot to mention, the movie is good, the book is GREAT!
