I've been having problems lately with the "Captain's Log". I'm in my 9th patrol now and every time I try to access the Captain's Log by either the "M", "K" or the Captain's Log button down in the lower right hand corner of the screen next to the TC the game freezes. Its been getting worse, at first the screen would freeze momentarily, but the last couple of nights I have to use CTRL+ALT+Delete to get out of the game. And since I have to access the "Captains Log" to send status reports and receive new assignments through it I've pretty much come to a dead stop in the game because I can't end my patrol. Anybody else have problems like these?

I'll be trying this one tonight. Last night was the first full evening of play I've had with the game. My sysem is fairly decent: Athlon X2 4800+ dual core processor, 2 gigs of PC3200 RAM, 6800 Ultra video card and Audigy 2 sound card, but the longer the patrol went the longer it took to open the clipboard. I never got it to lock up, and it never lasted as long as some of you report, but the more stuff wound up on the clipboard the longer it took. I don't understand why it would take so much time and resources to load text, but it does.

That fix works pretty well but two things would totally make this message console work for me:

- It now repeats every 'important' whenever I load a game, making those (usually longer) messages appear two/three/more times. Having these once would be enough methinks.

- Please give me an option to discard messages after I read them, allowing me to keep the ones I find useful or important enough.

I'm using the fix but am ignoring any messaging so far, just to keep the waiting to a minimum.
