I'm trying to learn this game with no prior sub sim experiance and have asked this question befire and cant seem to get an answer..After you plot a course on the nav map and tell the sub to follow it how the heck do you see where you are at on the course???....
You are at one end of the line, your goal on the other...

You know sir I'm not trying to be a smart ass,a helpfull answer would really help..If I'm not supposed to be posting here asking for help I will quit....
Sorry bud but its really that simple...
If you zoom in on the end of the black line you see on the map you will see your sub. Well a black icon/shape representing your sub.
If you can plot the course you have already found the map, I spend 90% of my game time looking at that map.

Thank you very much I will try it...:)
Hold CTRL and left click will center your ship on the chart to where you have the cursor.

Yup ! good tip. I think its even mentioned <gasp> in the manual.
Your own ship icon is a black circle with a "tail" it will be at one end of the course plot as someone mentioned.
I dont think he was being a smart ass more like trying to be humorous.
