View Full Version : Does JSGME simply copy the files to the right folders?

Reason I ask is, I finally have everything loaded just the way I like it (Thanks to all the great work done by moders  ) and I'd like to just zip the MOD folder for safe keeping.
should I put every thing back and than zip it?
or is it safe to just zip it as is. I looked at most of the files and everything looks in place, just want to confirm there wont be any conflicts should I ever have to reinstall :)
Well the thing to consider is that inside the MODS folder is one called BACKUP!
Inside that folder are all the files that the activated mods have overwritten that JSGME has backed up. So you might want to leave this folder out. It can be rather hefty. Mine is 360 megs at the moment.

Thanks P_Funk,
I hadn't even looked at my backup folder :o
I've mixed and matched so many different mods to get it just the way I play, I'd hate to ever have to do it all over again :damn:
Oh believe me I've been there. I once lost everything on my computer including all my GW 1.1a mods (way back eh?). The worst irony was that I had just gotten all the mods exactly as I liked them. I hadn't even played one patrol with my version of "perfection" before my hard drive went kaput.
I was so pissed off.:nope:

Happened to me last year, I not only lost everything I had moded into FB but all the modes, skins, campaigns I'd DL for it as well. A couple gigs of good stuff :damn: Felt like it took a month to get it all re-downloaded.
After that I went down and got a 300 gig external drive I keep all such stuff on  and every so often I burn a disc...just in case :know:
