In career mode, I am doing the mission "Patrol off Marshall Islands" for the FOURTH time now and it's getting very tiresome. I know the last three times I have completed the patrol because the binocs on the map has been greyed out and the mission log says the patrol was complete.

How exactly does one complete a "patrol" mission, I never seem to have them completed no matter how long i spend sailiong around the marker, killing things

These questions should be answered in a sticky sometime.

Anyways. A patrol mission is ended by time. 2880 minutes or 48 hours. Send status reports each day and eventually HQ will send you another mission.

Or just ignore the mission and go hunting.
