Mission variety

Hey my last 4 patrols I've been out of fremantle and I've had to patrol the makasar straight, I just watched a video saying how we need to support the guadalcanal landings and i've transferred to pearl and next mission is you guessed it patrol the makasar straight. not much variety in my orders, you guys get different missions?

Nope, i've had 6 agent insertions in a row.

First 3 at that northen Japanese Home island, and now on my to the 3rd on Saipan....Boreing!

Yes, my missions always change. I start in Manila. Manila is now lost to the Japanese. I have to motor to a new port down south somewhere. I have not had the same mission. Perhaps it is driven by what you accomplish in that mission I do not know.:hmm:

Maybe they decided i was such an expert at agent insertions i'm becomming their "go to guy"

The first thing the lousy agents do anyways is crash with my sub anyway.

Hi guys, mostly a lurker here. Anyway, I was feeling much the same way as all you.
Getting the same patrols, then when I looked in the game dir, I found my answer...
Look in the "sh4\data\campaign\patrol objectives" folder. There are multiple missions. Some from 1st thru the 7th. hehe You would think they would be a bit more varied given such a long list.

I also noticed when I finished a mission, in the congratulations text there would be a line that would say how many war patrols I had completed but it would always show "on your 0 war patrols", even though I'm on patrol 8 or 9. But I can live with it.

Yup, I'm getting the 0 war patrol for one of the citations, and 5th for the other one.. must have gotten 5-6 of the "0th patrol" and 2 of the "5th" patrol medals so far, the "5th" patrol is the Submariner cross I think its called.. red ribbon and cross-formed medal, the "0th" patrol is the one picturing a BB and purple ribbon i think.. Minor issue, but still makes the game look like a beta..

Feels like a bug to have to go on a commando insertion mission seven times in a row. A user on battlefield.no reported the same problem.

Makes me think of Empires: DOTW, which, despite it being a great game, was horrific at giving you a "random" civilization to play with when you started games. If you set eight players to random, almost all of them - as a rule - would be the same nation. You'd have seven Germanies and one France.
