Hello all from U-94

I'm the my poor VII C my crew has called home for some 23 patrols now. Fortunate for me, my crew I inherited were experienced with my Big brother, a VIIB for 3 patrols, sailing since the start of this madness, We have been sailing together as a band since then.
My skin shows well the actions seen, dented, bent, and hungry horse and all. patches are too numerous to count,, but my crew loves me,, patches me well, and off we shall go, again and again. More than once I returned home on a hope and a prayer,, or as my enginner says, hope, love, bailing wire, concrete patchs and lots of rubber and wood plug patchs. personally it was their love of me,, and home that got us back. The piers are usuall loaded with people first smiling, music, and merryment, but then stunned silence as we came into full view, amazed at the sight they beheld. The tower mostly gone, the bow bent around, crew wounded, and all of us, battered, broken and bruised, but never defeated. I do my part,, and my crew does theirs. Once at the pier,, the rebuild begins and I am made new again though. Or as my crew says, "When 94's ass hits the pier, off we go to get some beer"
Here we are now in mid 1943, and I am feeling more like a Yo yo toy, Since August of 42, they air is full of those dasardly flying machines. They strike witout warning at all. My men have given me all the latest gadgets, but still, on they come, 4, 5, 7 at once. Now I jsut show my nos from the port of Brest, and the relentless poundign begins. My last patrol, I returns with a paper thin hull, only 6.5 percent integrity left, But I showed tommy I was not licked, I took her for 14 ships of my own. Sadly I buried 3 of my own at sea due to those relentless hawks above. Their memory is with us still.
I will sail onward, doing my part, but do not know for how much longer. I keep hoping for that promised retirement to train others, to the cool waters of the north. My crew is sticking with me though, My captain has been offered bigger, better boats, but he and the crews loyalty is with me. I will trust them to help me home,, and they will trust me to bring them home safe and sound each time.
So,, as I depart on my 24th patrol, I bid you all a fond far the well, back at the English once again. Back to this Yo yo life. When will the aircraft stop!.
