We had several matche being played in this forum, 1 - 1.5 years ago. Moves and position diagrams were displayed in dedicated threads. After some time, the idea died.

The probably oldest game of mankind is called Kalaha, probably was "invented" in Africa, and experts say that it is several thousand years old (7000 years and more). Gameplans for it were also found in the Cheops pyramide, and the Egyptians seem to have played it a lot. It is known under more than a dozen different names.

But without doubt the oldest game of mankind is "How do I get her attention, and how do I keep the others away."

I would think that Hide and seek would be the first developed game
of all.

A positional move, it controls the central squares
c5 and e5 and open some lines to the black bishop
This move it's not so dinamical like 1.e4 that
many times open the position and creates very dinamical play.

Better try a separate thread for that, where exclusively your and your opponent's moves and comments are listed. One thread per match running.

You should also say by which rules you want to play. Are books allowed or not? Are computer analysis allowed, or not?

By experience (having played several such matches here myself), I recommend that both of you agree on the code for correspondence chess: books allowed, computers considered to be banned (you can't control that thing anyway). Obeying such self-obligations are very much a question of honour of both players.

If you find an opponent, I am willing to illustrate the match by providing nice little wooden diagrams after each move.

its important to say what you think,weakness....
strategy, tatics, pawns structure,and so on...open files
weak squares, space, bishop pair, the center,
assessing the position....

My father was an average chess player, and taught me a bit. Probably as he was an Architect in real life, his brain was well suited for that game. I studied laws and was always bad in anything except the basic maths, so I am very bad in chess. But my worsest drawback for that game is probably my lack of patiente :down:
