I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I wanted to be sure, as if I'm wrong I'm missing out on what I believe are probably two valuable instruments.

I'm manning a IIA in '39. All the sonar and radar options are always greyed out. Is this because I don't have either of these? If so, then what is that big turning circle on my deck? Also, is the stock SH3 bug of the radar not turning off allowing ships to target you still in effect with GWX 1.03? I just want to know so that if I ever do have radar I make sure to turn it off when I'm not using it.

Thanks :)

LMAO!

In 1939 you have a hull & some torps. That's about all.

The dial on your desk is the Hydrophone (underwater mic) it listens for stuff.:smug:

As the war progresses you will be able to 'buy' the upgrades.

When you do get a Radar, it will always be on unless you switch it off.

Ehm..a Type II

well, GREYED out means Non available/Not installed

wait till the war progresses and check the uboat shop from time to time
they got cheap bargains for 50% off! (j/k about the 50% off)

give it a peak before you start a new patrol, and to make it easier for you to know when to watch

click the big ? sign in the lower right corner of your screen when you click the Uboat screen in Base.

it show what part/Uboat comes avaible at a particular year (for example 1940--------sonar-----1941 Means that the Sonar comes Mid 1940 for your uboat to install.

Cool. Just wanted to make sure :) When I'm surface the hydrophone is greyed out too, so I thought perhaps it was the same situation. You could only use them in certain situations. I believe you can only use the radar surfaced right?

Also, I know you have to turn off the radar, but isn't there a bug with stock SH3 where even when you turn it off it isn't always off. You have to literally turn it off a certain way to ensure its off. I read that in the community manual I believe.
