Playstation 3   & possibly the XBOX 360????

I don't think I could get used to GTA on a PC.

Get yourself a logitech wireless gamepad and you can pump up anti-aliasing, higher resolution and longer draw distance.

Consoles suck. Sorry but it's true.

Ya well why bother with a gaming pad, mouse is far better for shooting. Trying to shoot with a joystick or game pad is.. well, archaic ;)

Only reason for a game pad is for the lousy console ports that dont support mouse control (like Resident Evil 4 for pc). GTA has never been a true "port" but rather actualy developed as a full pc game.

People actually play this trash? I tried the GTA san andreas, and after about 5 minutes, and doing a mission or two, I was bored to tears! After you steal a bus or something, and crash it into everything you see, its already over! Yeah, you get you jobs and you do them, but so what? Its the most pointless game I have ever played.

I played Liberty city with a mouse but found GTA San Andreas much easier with the gamepad. It really isn't a good port imo as if you select to use a steering wheel there is no way to bind your pedals as accelerator and brake without third party software.

Plus the auto target button makes life a lot easier. I'm just not a fan of using mouse on third person views, for first person mouse beats anything but third is just awkward.

I couldn't get into San Andreas either, but I was traditionaly a fan of the series. I played it since the first top-down version.
GTAIII was the best one IMO, good storyline and gameplay, and it was something new at the time. I played Vice City about half-way through and didn't really bother with San Andreas.

A much better game of the same type is Mafia. It's without a doubt one of the best games I have ever played... ever, maybe only second to Deus Ex

Did I hear you right? mafia = 2nd best game ever???

tsktsktsk. No sir it is not. I have completed both san andreas and mafia (actually i completed all the GTA's) and I find all GTA's far more replayable (deus ex was/is an amazing game but is not as replayable). The only reason I bothered to finish Mafia was because I enjoyed the storyline.

Some speculation from a few pc game magazines are saying that the new GTA will be far less comical in appearance and a lot truer to the real grime, hustle and bustle of the big city. That might be from the video.

At least they are exploring a different cultural background for the criminals than the cliche'd hip hop artist or mafioso. Makes a nice change. In fact, in that repect, isn't it a unique game? Don't think i've ever seen a game attempt to look into the far less glorified world of the modern immigrant (can't remember if the character was mentioned as being an illegal immigrant or not).
I always thought they'd try shifting location. Maybe the Chinese triads?

Anyways, I'm lookin forward to it.

I certainly hope so. You started out GTA:SA as a black youth trying to make his way through a neighbourhood ruled by inner city gangs and flooded with drugs. By mid-point you were stealing secret jet packs from Area 69 and delivering them to a mysterious hipster named "The Truth." It makes for a very fun game but I hope they get back down to earth soon.

Bad news, no pc version, as it uses euphoria or whatever is called that engine that exists ONLY on consoles....
It was nice while it lasted...

Uh huh, I'm sure... they said the same thing about GTA3 and Vice City (I think). It may be a little longer coming, but it will come.

Very true mate.:yep:
But all of the mafia games that have been brought out so far have been completely tonk.

Driver was a good game but the second game was awful.
The was Mafia which was not that great but a good story line i thought.
Godfather had a lot to live up too but fell on its face for me.
Scarface just looks like a poor mans GTA.

GTA is the the daddy of the gerne having a lookesy at the 2 traliers and some of the screens and reading what of the plot has been leaked. It has got me licking my lips. I think its a shame that they have not set it in a new city insted of going back to liberty city yet again. Also i here the map is smaller than it was in SA. I liked the large map in SA when i got pissed off shooting people and running them over with my terible driving i liked nothing better than free wheeling my way around the countryside on my chopper pushbike.

Well i best get myself a PS3 fast as i dont want to miss out on the game.

Great game, kind of slid under the radar back in the day. I picked it up awhile back for 9.99 Canadian, or American now for that matter :D

Scarface was actually really fun, especially if you liked the movie. You could buy a driver and a weapons dealer in Scarface which really streamlined the gameplay. Also, the whole way the cocaine business works in Scarface (negotiations based on the swing meter in the Arnold Palmer/Tiger Woods Gofd series, was really addicting.

The Warriors was also fun, with a little more linear gameplay than the GTA series. Also, much shorter amount of time to finish the game.

Bully was good too, and nothing like the critics said it was. It was basically all about doing harmless pranks, and you can kiss girls.

Shoulda got a ps3 :O:.

I'm surprised you didn't get it on PC. Modding adds a lot to the game(like the ability to play as a cop).

Edit: Also, come September you can move to Los Santos.

It/they are great on PC, just as good in my opinion, and the mods can help too. Get a gamepad if you've not already got one.

This prolly isn't what Neal wants to hear having just bought a 360. :o

Driving. Sex with prostitutes (not a crime everywhere!). Fly (in some).

But, yeah, most of it is crime. Better to do it on your PC (or eggbox/PS) than in real life though. :sunny:

I looked at GTA IV in Walmart today for PC. If I were to get it, I'd want it on PC....but it's got higher specs than my computer Graphics-wise and I just put it down. :dead:

I loved the fact that because GTA London was made in the US and GTA in the UK the city blocks in GTA had curves but the blocks in London were all straight like those in the US. :haha:
Then of course the classic cheat code for London - GETCARTER. Good stuff, fond memories, great music:
