Could it possibly have anything to do with ancient prophesy, ( from many cultures, btw), concerning a world "upheaval" or "calamity" of some type, on or near that date?

I understand the development team is fixing the TDC bug. That is a good place to start.:yep:

its the end of the world according to the Mayan calender.
Just tell the devs not to bother with quality control, we're all ready used to it :P
I honestly never realised there were so many bugs.

I was just about to state this fact also, then i read this, but if you go by some of the so called prohecies of the bible code, which supposedly suggests that the world ends in 2050. This is in reference to the 150 psalms in the bible. Some armageddon believers believe the psalms are prophecies with psalm 1 starting at 1900 to pasalm 150 ending in 2050.

although slightly annoyed about the bugs that a beta test would have resolved (which is why most companies now offer beta testing to certain members of the public to avoid paying for more staff:D), I am still impressed that they got out the first patch so quickly, as it was out before the UK had it in stores.
I would like to see a comment from a dev tho, with some sort of eta, even if it was in April/May or quarter 4
would also be nice to see what they are going to concentrate on first. I would hope they fix the gameplay first and graphical errors before adjusting realism, if they cant do it all at once.
Wouldnt need everything fixed if its going to take too long. For example, the CTD errors could be fixed with one patch whilst other things in future ones.

They cant give you an ETA when they can't be sure themselves. When they finish the patch then they need to test it. And if there are any glitches with it then they have to go back and recode the patch...then retest it again.
You don't just throw a patch together and say "Here it is!"

I'd make two points. Firstly, the Beta testers of such games are frequently not testing the version of the game that goes gold, and they can only flag issues relative to the version of the game that they tested.
Secondly; even if the Beta testers flag an issue, that doesn't guarantee that the issue will be dealt with and resolved. Companies Like Ubisoft catorgorize bugs and will usually prioritize the bugs deemed to be important enough to impact sales.
The CTD issue regarding the 'A' key is easy to resolve and probably already has been. We'll all hear about exactly what's contained in patch 1.2 soon.

The message-log bug would fit under that "important enough to impact sales" category.
Patch 1.2 should be released as soon as possible to fix that one bug alone.

Any smart company has it's external Beta testers sign an N.D.A. Not to do so would be stupid.

There is a mod to reduce radio traffic thats cluttering that clipboard into submission. I'm using it and it works great. The clipboard is not clutter with crap from 5 weeks ago making the board load in about 5 minutes:doh:

One thing to remember (and I am NOT saying that it is the case here, cuz I really don't know) is that some game budgets allow only for a fixed number of patches. IF that's the case here I would not want to waste one on a patch that only addresses a couple of items.

I had thought the same but I put those two in so to make the game playable. I saved the original files and will just put them back in for the new patch:up:

Btw, C&C 3 a strategy long awaited game came this week ago as some of you may know. Patch 1.1 came out for it on day of release(similar to SH4) but today, only few days later, today there is already 1.2 patch. Now thats the kind of commitment and dedication I like to see. Lets how SH4 next patch hits us soon.

The "Soon™" is actully a Neal Stevens trademark ;)
It became that shortly before the SH4 because he stated that there be a new dev video/update out "Soon"....well....it took a couple of weeks ;)
"Soon" was Neals word :smug:
