Little S-18 question

In the S-18 Command room, does the helmsman (guy who controls the engines and the rudder) face towards the bow or the stern of the sub? Because the electric engine noise comes from the wall in front of him. It's an old sub, maybe he is facing the engine room?

Yeah, I noticed that, myself. Have an X-Fi soundcard, so the position audio queues are really accurate to what the game requests.

It's just...this game doesn't always seem to put the sound sources in the right spot.

Well, he should only control the steering wheel, but yeah, he faces the front. If the sound comes from there, it's wrong.

I had associated that noise with flow noise around the bow...then again, there would be lot of sub between the command room and bow. I guess its just my mind making lemonade out of lemons.

I've only tried two sub classes thus far, S-class and P-class subs, and the engine noise (diesel and electric) come from in front of the helmsman in all subs. Is this modelled incorrectly in all other sub classes as well?

I'm using an X-Fi with 2.09.007 drivers with OpenAL support under WinXP Pro (SP2).
