Having trawled through many threads, I think I've seen a reference to my problem, but can't find it again. Basically, on my first career mission out of Pearl Harbour ( Dec 10th, 1941 ) my mission is ( always ) to patrol off Honshu. I've tried to play the d**n thing 5 times and always the same thing happens: sudden death, total loss of sub and crew ( but I get arrested and charged with negligence - lol )

It never happens at the same stage of the mission - just somehwere between Midway and Honshu and always seems to happen when I'm running submerged and at 1026TC - so I never get to see what hits me ( if anything ). The last 2 times I tried the mission with 0% Realism ( unlimited O2 etc.) just to see if it was me, or the game and still the same thing happened.

As I've said I do recall seeing a reference to this somewhere, but can't find it again.

Anyone else suffer the same thing and is there a way to prevent it from happening. I haven't seen a Japanese ship yet, let alone fired off a torpedo.

Hmmm aparently the sub sinks to oblivion if you run out of batteries, also possible you might be running aground, check your plot to make sure there are no shallow areas along the route.

Why are you running high tc at PD anyway ?, Personaly I run on the surface to get there...

Thank you for such a prompt response. I don't think it's a question of running aground - on three occasions I was in really deep water. Can't be batteries either. On the last two occasions with 0% Realism I had unlimited batteries, oxygen, compressed air and fuel.
