I just have embarked on getting into GWX, and one short question: are old saved games from vaniall SH3 compatible with GWX? Probably has been asked before, but I am out of touch with the present scene - got SH3 working again just weeks ago.

And whiole I am asking questions, I also see (hear) that the voices are a mix of English and German, although sound options have been switched to German. Commands that are confirmed for example are English sometimes. Is GWX like that, or is it a problem with my installation? If the first, I might prefer to switch to English completely.

To answer your questions as best as I can...

More than 90% of the time I would say that old non-GWX careers are not compatible with GWX. Our "official" direction is to completely delete the "SH3" folder in "My Documents" to prevent problems from ocurring.

As much as I would like to be able to speak German fluently, I only know enough to get my face slapped. GWX is designed to be played using German crew speech, and German or English text. It should not be inter-mingeled with English speech if you are using GWX files. French text translations are also supported.

Adding other crew voice mods can / may cause problems.

I can confirm that as per the options I selected, I get all speech in German in GWX, with English sub-titles. Although I didn't know some of the German words I soon got to know what they mean!

Having said that I've just remembered that I changed the 'Not so long ago' screen to read 'Welcome back Herr Kaleun' which is not too consistent...
