What's up with G7es Torpedoes?

I am using SH3 in Nov 44 and am using G7es torpedoes.

They are not working???

I get a target within 500 - 1500 m and fire at a merchant, torpedoes set depth at 3 or 4 metres, impact. When I fire them let's say, in a salvo, spread 1 degree, nothing happens. The time goes right by when it should have hit the merchant and keep right on running; NO IMPACT. :damn:

What's up? What am I doing wrong?

IIRC the G7es are accoustic homing torpedos, they go for the loudest vessel after 400m. Is it possible that they have gone after a different ship?

They will do, they go for the loudest sound.:yep:

They were never designed to fired in salvos, they were designed to be used in a last ditch effort to destroy a attacking escort from the stern or bow tube. A sort of 'fire & forget' weapon.

Then that what must be what is wrong.

When I fire a single torpedo, it hits and impacts, and there is an explosion.

But there is nothing when a salvo shot is fired.

I will fire singularly at a merchant. Wait 10 seconds and fire another.

I was not aware of this or didn't think about this when I chose them.
