I have vanilla SH3 installed in the usual way, and GWX and NYGM versions made using MultiSH3 (i.e. I just copied and pasted the entire game to these new locations, then applied the mods).

I would like to get rid of my NYGM version. Can I manually delete the game folder? Or should I try to uninstall it poperly?

Would it be possible to uninstall the original version and leave the GWX version unscathed?

Thanks

Just delete it mate! While you're at, don't forget the save files in 'My Documents'. You can do this with any install. The only things left over will be registry referencs which won't hurt.

Your GWX will be fine.

Not quite correct. The registry entries are created when SH3 is first installed. Copying and pasting to new locations doesn't create new registry entries.

The registry entries will only remain if the original installed copy is not correctly uninstalled.

To get rid of the main installation including its registry keys is

''My PC'' - ''Control Panel'' - ''Software'' scroll down to Silenthunter3 click Remove on the right side

Just wondering, what didnt you like about NYGM?
I thought it was a good mod aside from the negative boyancy thing.

I never got a chance to even try NYGM fully. My computer couldn't handle the 16k visibility, which resulted in slideshow framerates and laggy response to input, making it unplayable.

So I can uninstall the original vanilla SH3 too? GWX doesn't need those registry entries?

Ummm, if you uninstall the original SH3 you'll have not only no registry settings, but, ummm, no SH3 either, will you not?

You must have ONE FULLY installed SH3 on your computer, ipso facto one set of registry settings. Not to make GWX happy, but to make SH3 happy.

Registry entries are really only a built in indexing system for windows. (simplified;))

As long as you have an installed SH3 with GWX added on top then you no longer require the basic stock SH3.

We always suggest that you create a copy of either your Stock SH3 or SH3+GWX to keep in a safe place in case you ever need to revert to a 'clean' copy. Just copy & paste to another area on your HDD and rename accordingly.
