how far away from kiel are you?
you know you can just dock at the nearest firendly port and refuel and re arm there
if you can reach a port

I'm at the arse end of England with only a quarter of a tank left. So what yourt saying is I have to drive my boat into any friendly port and it will auto fuel me without breaking the mission, meaning I don't have to exit the campaign. :o

Are you in a II canoe? or a VII? and what year?

probably your nearest port is Wilhelmshaven, later , the French ports will be available.

There is teleporter I have never used.
There is a game bug. Your electric engines will recharge without diesel fuel when you are on the surface.

Like already posted, visit a friendly port for re-fueling or use the battery bug.

Surface at all stop and crank the TC, your batteries will magically recharge.:o It will be a long trip home if you're on batteries.

:hmm: Arse end of England eh? Do you mean Cornwall?:stare: lol. You could always try running the Channel:p

Touchy touchy my friend :D Besides I always thought the arse end of England was Birmingham? Mind you you'd be doing well to navigate a u-boat up the Trent undetected so I doubt he's there :D

PS. Before I get any abuse from any Brummies out there, I was born in beautiful Kings Heath and now have to support WBA as a punishment

If you look around inside the sub, there must be some paddles somewhere...:D

If your past July '40, I think Lorient should have opened as a new friendly base to refuel at. Failing that a careful trip up the chanel is the next option. I tried the method of using Cherbourg as extra anti aircraft cover on the way up, waiting there during the daylight hours as there was a German destroyer parked there. You say about a quarter of a tank left, that should be enough. Unles you have already calculated the distance and range etc. Last patrol I made it back to Wilhelmshaven with 15 Km of fuel at 5 Kts calculated by the navigation officer :p

I can make it to Wilhelmshaven, so me and my crew are happy little seamen, I just was not sure if I could refuel there as this is the first time I'm playing on the limited fuel settings. I know using GWX that I can exit or dock at a port close by but this cancels your mission and I dident want to do that. So the procedure is just to sail up to the port and, poof!!!!, magic fuel.

you have to dock there and start a new patrol

You'll more than likely be given a 'null' patrol grid so don't be AALLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAARRRMMMMMED :arrgh!:

If you go inside the base and turn right in the channel in the middle there is a band and girls at the end.

Bollocks to this I'm starting a new career without fuel limits, this is one of the crap things about SH3 that was cured in SH4 where you just nip close to any friendly port and get the option to refuel and refit without breaking the mission, which makes sence really. Shame SH4 in such a zhit state gonna be years before they debug that sucker.

Oh While your here, oh mighty big brain, can you tell me is there any way of knowing what ships are enemy, neutrals or friendly before you sink the buggers.

To answer your question: Check out the flags. on the nav screen , upper left hand corner there are some pull out charts on of them shows you who is frieendly, Enemy or neutral when.

Refueling doesn't cancel your mission, yuo get fuel , torpedoes, give out medals, then you are free to sail without orders.

1. What crap thing ? Have been playing this sim for a long time and never ran out of fuel... There's a practical feature called "fuel gauge" and a smart navigator giving the range left when you kindly ask him :D If you have to refuel, use SH3 Commander or SH3 Patrol to assign a new patrol grid if you wish.

2. I would say look at the flag ?

I did look at the flag, and as far as I could tell it was Denmark, and my doofer said Denmark was a enemy of Germany, so I shot it, then I find out it was a neutral, putting me in bad books with me boss with the bird crap on his hat.

Ta, I dident know that existed, I will check it out.

And keep in mind - if this is your first patrol with fuel limits - some speeds give you MUCH better fuel economy than others.

You have about, oh, 10 times the range driving at 1/3 vs 'flank'.

Play a little with the speed-needle around 8kts, and ask your Navigator for max-range at current speed everytime, and find the sweet spot.
A few 0.1kts difference can mean 500km more or less!

That's for a TypeVII...we still don't know which uboat you're sailing.
