After my 4th patrol ('43) I checked my logbook and there was a cryptic message:"Rang wurde angehoben",translated word-by-word it means 'rank was elevated'. Does that mean that I was promoted to Commander (CDR)? Did anybody else get such a message?

Maybe you intercepted some top secret German telegraph message? :lol:

Nope, the message appeared in the logbook that you have in your office.
