Can't get SH3 to reinstall

I had a problem and had to reinstall SH3 I deleted the program and all folders that I made that was associated with the game. But when I install the SH3 disc and install it does it but when I go to play it comes up saying the Campaign RND is invaild? I am sure I have removed all folders and addon's. Is there something that I can run that would remove everything that goes to SH3 after I have uninstalled it or is my stock disc junk now?:roll:

Did you delete your save game folders that were in your documents?

1.) Do an uninstall of SH3. When the uninstall is complete, go into your control panel and verify that all files and folders have been removed from your C:/Programs/Ubisoft/SH3 area. Delete manually anything that may remain.

2.) From the control panel, go to your My Documents and Folders folder, look for SH3 and delete any and all files remaining there.

3.) Click on RUN, type in REGEDIT and hit ENTER.
Scroll to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, highlight and expand the tree, scroll down to SOFTWARE, highlight and expand the tree again, scroll down to UBISOFT, expand the tree and scroll down to SILENT HUNTER III, scroll down to KEYS and highlight it. Now, on the right hand side, you should see two items, one is 'default', and the other should be called DiscKey_SH3...and to the right of that one should be your 25 character DVD code. Delete that entire line.

4.) Back up and find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and once again, scroll down to SOFTWARE, scroll down to UBISOFT and delete the entry.

5.) Delete the desktop icon/shortcut. Since this points to an old install, that pointer should no longer exist.

At this point, you SHOULD have all pointers to the original game installation(S) removed. NOW try a complete, fresh, clean install of SH3! :lurk:

I will do this and let you know if it works. I thought at sometime there was a program you could run and it would delete everything for you but oh well I will do it the old fashion way.:roll:

Ok I have installed SH3 and it worked but now when I tried to download the patch to 1.4 it says permission denied! Now how an I going to install the patch?

You DO realize that there are FOUR versions of the 1.4b patch, depending on which SH3 game version you have?

1.) European DVD in a box
2.) American DVD in a box
3.) European Internet download
4.) American Internet download

Do you have the correct patch version for your game?

ok I got the 1.4 patch to install now when I goto download the GWX it says permission denied this download is from Gameshadow is there another place to get the download?:roll:

I wish to thank everyone for the help in reinstalling SH3 and GWX I don't know why gameshadow would no longer let me get the 1.4 upgrade or get the Gwx upgrade everytime I went to download it said I have no permissions. So with the help of the Subsim Captains I have now accomplished my goal and can now continue the mission of ruling the world:rock:
