Hi

Can someone explain how you sink a fast moving ship like a destroyer.. I just aim manually and hope the torpedoes hit, and i play on 0 realism. I tried pressing the send bearing to tdc and stuff after i locked onto ship and identified it.

The manual (or the included PDF on game's DVD) explains it pretty good with pictures, math. explanations etc. It really helped me :) You might wanna check it! :arrgh!:

But what if I want to sink a ship without using the manual way explained in that tutorial video ?

Just put the crosshiars over the ship and press "L" to lock on. then when the triangle is green press the red button to fire! simple as that.

dont forget to open your tube before you shoot (Q key) because at high speeds even a slight delay in the torpedo getting into the water might throw your aim off.
experiment with the torpedo tutorial in the naval academy, its good practice with that because youre attacking a fairly fast moving cruiser.

also, try to get an angle on him if he's got range on you, even a few degrees ahead of him can make a difference between your hitting a vulnerable spot or his anti-torp bulges (well on FAST capital ships)\

don't forget the position keeper, i finally figured out what my problem was with not hitting ANYTHING i shot at. if you update your position keeper (click the red light on the torpedo programming box) JUST before you fire, its ALOT ALOT ALOT easier to have a rapid fire attack. its not Salvo fire, but its a reasonable facsimile.

last night i stumbled into a task force with a bunch of BB's and CA's escorted by alot of DD's. when the DD's started to attack i just targeted and shot as quick as possible, every time i hit the position keeper before i shot. ALL OF MY SHOTS HIT! even at a closing range (under 2000 meters for the heavy ships and considerably less for the DD's) not to mention that the heavy ships all started zig-zagging as soon as the first DD took a torp and turned turtle. a heavy cruiser took two and went down fast and a BB took two and went down slow.

position keeper rules!
