Hi,

Are the interiors of the available subs historically correct? My impression is that they all look very much the same inside except for a few details?.

Anyone that can shed some light on this subject?

So far I've only seen screenshots; but they look very much like the photographs.

You can compare the inside of the Gato class with the pics I took inside the Cavalla. I'd say it's pretty darn close. Cavalla was converted into a hunter killer in the 50's, so she may look a tad different.

Remember, you are really looking at 3 basic types:

1. The S-boats of the early 20s
2. The mid-30s Propoise and her sisters
3. The late-30s and on Tambor and her younger sisters. This is the true fleet boat line, and they are all of the same family.

Thanks mate for the pics.
I bought the game last Sunday. Have not played much because of the resolution and FSAA + all the bugs issues.
And this question got stuck in my mind regarding the similarities of the interiors.
Thanks,
Now back to my old trusty TypeII :yep:

Here are pics of the USS Drum a Gato Class Sub.

It is still in its WWII Configuration so it makes a great comparison to the Gato Compartments in the Game. I actually think the developers did a pretty good job of modeling it.

Be sure to look close at the control room, conning tower, and sonar station. It will definately look familar!
