Hi guys, now some of you may think im out of order posting this but I feel It is something that has to be said.

A Few days ago Ubisoft gave us SH4, Since then all I have heard is this is wrong that is wrong, What a buggy piece of .... this game is. Well hang on guys lets think about this.

EVERY Single game that is relesed has this same problem, There will always be people who can't run the game, One of the joys of PC gaming im afraid. I bet you that Not one person on this site is running that same machine, every one of us has put his own mark into his machine, be it Software, Hardware etc. Now how can any of us expect any programmer to take every machine in the world into respect. They aim for the middle road and try and cover as many as they can, But it stands to reason That they wont get everything.

Now YES Sh4 has bugs, Its a new Pc game so OF course its got bugs, but this is where we have the advantage of being PC owners, those poor console owners, Can't patch or Mod once they have bought the software, WE can. It may not be the perfect solution, Yes I would love a game to come out that is perfect, SORRY guys the world isnt great, That WILL not happen, Come on think back when our beloved SHIII was given to us. Did that play perfectly, Was it without any Bugs, HELL NO.

SHIII was a very buggy piece of software, however we patched it and our wonderful Modding Community came to our aid. It has taken 2 yrs or so, of very very hard and dedicted work from our Modding Community to make it what it is today. Any of you go back and install and play a vanilla version of SHIII you will see what i mean. The games that are relesed to us rightly or wrongly are just starting platforms. SH4 has HUGH protential, because OUR Community has passion and knows what it wants.

Who here plays ShIII without some sort of patch, be it GWX, SH3 Commander or NYGM, every one has brought SHIII closer to what we wanted when it was first relesed. But it has taken time and effort. The Good News is These Modders are part of our community, and They WILL no doubt be planning to help us again on SH4.

So what am I trying to state with this slight Rant :) I guess Don't get too upset with the first copy of SH4, We already have a patch coming out, which shows even Ubisoft wants to help, Ive never seen a patch out before most of us have even got the game, and to remember even our Beloved SHIII had many many problems before we got what we wanted, Just because their are a few bugs dosnt make it a Bad piece of programming, It Dosn't make the game .... , It dosnt even mean it was rushed out to us. ( Ok maybe the last one ;) ) The point is its a starting place and I the one think SH4 will be amazing after our modding community gets their hands on it. Come on I still play Falcon 4 after 7 yrs and thats still not right. Hell That sim wouldn't even run on any machine for 2 yrs after it was relesed, yet it is still held as the finest fast jet sim out there.

So Please guys Dont slag of Ubisoft, if you do then with the Industry being what it is We may Never get another subsim,

Give the Modders all the respect in the world, Its these guys who are really the heros of the SH world, and bare in mind, with everyone complaining we have already Lost one amazing modder who helped change SHIII to what it is today JScones and his amazing Sh3 Commander, I know he has a new family to look after and I wish him all the best with that, But I cant help thinking we helped drive him away, Its always those who complain who has the loudest voice, If the Mod or game tends to work well, We dont say a thing. I for one Think SH3 commander added so much to the sim, and not to have it for Sh4 is a hugh loss for us all.

And Finally a big Thanks for the guys who host Subsim, the ones who make it all possible for us to meet here, Neal Stevens, Gizzmoe, Drebbel, Donner, TDK1044, John Channing and anyone else who I have forgotten, Without these guys we have Nothing, SO Congrat them, thank them but please dont slag them off.

well Thanks for listening to my rant, I hope I havnt offended anyone Just after reading all the negitive posts, I just felt it had to be said.

Take care guys and enjoy SH4, it will be great

Your ranting would be fine save for one statement you made that is in my opinion incorrect.

"EVERY Single game that is relesed has this same problem."

Is this statement made from your direct experience with every single game or do you have data from other quotable sources to back this up?

I'm not trying to slam you or your opinion, just challenging your statement.

haha No Probs Unruhly, No I dont have proof on me, :) Thats just my own thoughts. The point im trying to make there is, It dosnt matter how well programmed a game is, There will be someone, somewhere who wont be able to run it. Their are So many differences in peoples machines that you cant expect programmers to catch every problem,

Hence the phase, "Every single game has the same problem"

Everyone is entitled to an opinion,

so long as its not abusive or similar than please "feel free" to read or NOT read peoples threads and posts...............its a forum.

If there is some negative posting "in your opinion" perhaps it because there are some very serious issues and concerns re : SH4.

If I had to make a plea, it'd be to ask people to knock it off with the eleventy billion patch 1.1 threads. All you need is one ffs.

Drug companies spend billions of dollars developing and testing drugs. The final phase before release uses several hundred people.
After the drug hits the shelves, and several thousand or several hundred thousand use it, side effects show up and sometimes the drug has to be recalled or its use restricted. I could name many drugs from thalomide to Vioxx.
The game developers with a very limited budget and pressure to get the game to the market so the company could make some money; a much more severe problem. They test it on a few machines and with a small number of testers for a limited time (Drug companies spend, on average, over a decade testing).
So they have bugs. Unless the game is a direct knockoff of another game, or is so simple a child could program it, it will have to have bugs and problems.
That's my opinion.
I am just glad the Ubisoft people gave us a frame to work with; the improvement of SHIII by the modeling community with the great mods
should give you'all (I'm from Southern Indiana) hope that SHIV will also come to be great. It does me.
