View Full Version : First look on my system
loaded up last night, total play time 1.8 hrs.
system:
abus duel gfx/chip capable motherboard
1.8g amd chip
geforce 6800 gfx card EDIT: it is a PCI-E slot
1gb ram [2gb ram next payday]
obscure name low cost sound card but gives great sound
19" generic monitor
resolution 1024x768
windows XP-pro
kensington optical finger trackball
generic kayboard
game defaulted to medium graphics.
no problem what-so-ever running this game on the above specs.
I play 100% realism
I must admit that i am having a hard time learning the controls. never played sh II/III before so key locations need practice. besides inept controling by me, this game is a treat:yep: i tried everything related to the boats controls at least once and i have not experienced any troubles... no sound glitches, no really noticeable graphics problems..
so far the only thing i dislike is the opening movie and the devil's measurements which people like to call "the metric system":rotfl:
i will write up my indepth review in a few weeks from a person that has never played SH III, so it should be a fresh perspective for your enjoyment! i will patch the game too..
i want to thank all of the posters here for the great information floating around this great forum.

Thanks for posting your specs and how it runs. Seems a lot have the middle of the road systems and need to know if the game will run. I have a system a bit stronger than yours and was wondering myself. Mine has not come in yet, hopefully today.
According to this link, the USA,Liberia, and Myanmar are the only countries left in the civilized world that DON'T use the metric system.
I realize people are afraid of change and it is probably the thinking of "Devil's measurements" that is keeping these countries from joining the rest of the world.
EDIT: to add link, do'h http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_system

I'm running the game with a P4 3.0 processor, 2 Gigs of RAM, and a GeForce 7600GT video card and the game runs with no issues at all set at 'High'. I'm still deciding weather I like the 'filters' or not though. I haven't measured the fps, but it looks and performs fine.

Pci-e. The GT is a faster card than the GS version.

Sempron 2800+ (1999 mhz LOL don´t reach 2000) (old 462)
ASUS A78VX-X
EVGA 7800GS CO (AGPx8)
1,5 Gb RAM 333 mhz
HD 2 x 80GB 133
Campaign start 1941:
Pearl 14-17 FPS bridge (bad! bad!)
Navigation 24-26 FPS bridge (is ok for my eyes)
all options ON at 1024x768 (vsync on). If I turn them off is the same FPS!! sure CPU bottleneck here...
:arrgh!:
I´m thinking in get a new mother and Core 2 Duo E6600 but reading this one:
