To kick this off..
I noticed a new Please Wait message when you first load a mission/patrol.
The actual loading of the missions/patrols seems faster?
More voice notifications of targets and also message notifications.
Engine sounds, airplanes etc.. generally seem louder and improved.
first thing iŽd like to know: is the anoying "game over" screen gone?
they wrote something in changelog about having added a "death camera"...
thanky, how great would it be if i could find out for myself

It seems that the 1.1 patch fixes the CTD when using the stadimeter. My 1.0 CTD'ed when I clicked at the image and now it dosn't :D
Game crashes every time i click on the depth meter to set depth. Chronometer is not fixed either though that might change with the official one. Other than that some very nice new features. Starting off a career mission you can choose to start mission at dock or outside harbour. Game missions loads VERY fast now.
Crew management has been tweaked and other nice stuff.

Hmm strange, I dosn't have that problem.
ill try a clean install and double check.
update: Yeah, clean install did it. I have no idea why it crashed since i haven't modded or done anything with the game... oh well, alls well :)

I bet the patch doesnt patch every file when it finds some cfg is "changed" since you played the game lol. But that's just my guess.

I was just introduced to the "Death camera" after having a bomber drop out of the clouds and smack me right square on my conning tower, camera spinned around a bit and then watched my boat plummet to the bottom. Afterwards there was a screen informing me that i have destroyed a ship of high importance to the US and that i was being escorted to the brig until the end of the war (thought i was dead? :damn:) However, havn't noticed any 2d crew members my radar doesn't seem to be picking up everything around me in 1941 and my stadimeter works :up: I'm happy with the patch.
BTW. first post

Any other place than FileFront to D/L?
Seems to keep taking me to some sort of Terms Of Agreement screen and when I except...I am then at some Hosted file management screen ? :stare:

D'oh!!
Cheers
regarding Filefront:
I am having the same issue as described above [by Hackett] when trying to download the patch from Filefront. Interestingly, if you do a search for the Silent Hunter series, and wind your way into the actual location of the storage of the patch at Filefront's servers [follow silent hunter --> silent hunter 4 --> downloads --> patches]
then you find that the patch has been "locked for administration purposes" and that it is 0 KB in size.

I got the exact same mission ending after sinking for no reason at all. Well, I suppose I might have been bombed, I was at periscope depth off the japanese coast. Don't think I managed to destroy any allied shipping, though. And even if I did, why bother dragging my corpse from its watery grave to a court-martial?

I hope they fix the chronometer. It'll be a pain having to buy my own and calculate speed.

The chronometer works perfectly well - what is broken is the ability to magically calculate speed just by starting and stopping the timer.
So no need to buy a stopwatch you can use the in-game one, you might need a calculator though ;)

Amen to that. The most arcade aspect of SHIII was the magic chronometer.

All good. Although I wish I could reset it instead of closing and opening it again. Since I'll be using the 3 minute rule most likely.. the ships are already past me most of the time. Hrmm.. 30 second guess, here I come.
