Pesky French trawler

Ok, so it's the last day of January 1940 and i decided i would try and raid a port. I went with the French because, you know, they allways loose their wars and all that.

I sneak into St. Nazaire only to find that there are no warships and 6 small vessels lying there. I blast them all with my deck gun and all is well. On my way out i spot an armed trawler racing to help the poor defenceless sailors in port. I dive to preiscope deapth and go silent, the trawler spots me and tries to sink me with no luck. They drop DC's all over the place, only not near my boat. Another trawler joins up but he is even worse at finding my position and he leaves after an hour or so of horribly misplaced DC's. I figured the other first trawler would give up soon too and set course south towards Bordeaux harbour but the thing is following me. It has now been 5 or 6 hours of silently running a straight southern course and the trawler are still circling around above. I think he has run out of DC's because i havn't heard any for quite some time. Darkness has fallen and now i don't know what to do.

I have tried to sink him with torps, with no luck. I don't want to waiste any more fish on him. How long will he follow me? Could i surface and shoot him with my deck gun, or maby even outrace him? What would you guys do?

I am running a VIIB and the mod GWX and soon i am running out of air.

Surface and knock out his gun. If your gonna run out of air you dont have a lot of choice. You sure its a trawler though. Wouldnt fancy a duel with a Destroyer:D

Do this i know it might be cheating a tad when one of those trawlers go on a mission to hunt you down even after they run outa dc's find a piece of land get as close as you can while submereged the Trawler will then promptly run aground while its at Full ahead panic stations you turn tail and vanish trust me it works ive done it several times.:up:

lol, i will try that, setting course east towards the coast now. The surface gun-attack is my backup plan.

I've been zoomed in and watched this happen before and didn't think to much of it. Except for maybe the trawler just having a Bernard incident.

If you look up the word Faliure in the dictionary you will find my attempt at getting away from the trawler.

I ran towards the coast and all was well. But the trawler didn't run aground, he stopped some 20 m from land. I thought i wasn't close enough so i tried to get closer to land and then... BANG! I had ran myself on ground and most of my sub was sticking up of the water. Crew on deck, man the deck gun. First shot from the trawler hit my conning tower, killing my officer on deck. Second shot killed my gun crew. I put 3 more crew on the gun, they died too and the gun was destroyed. After that the trawler shot a few more holes in my conning tower and hull and the screen of death was a fact.

Call it a bug or whatever steed mate but it deffinatly does work on several occasions when i have had the trawler from hell iew ran outa dc's and deck gun ammo ive jst chugged along at PD, till ive got to a island or coast line watched very carefully and with the Trawler aka tub constantly sailing round you it just bangs into the coast line gets stuck and walla your outa there:yep: if you want to knwo more PM me steed:up:
