Moi. :D
I figure in 8 months it will rock thanks to the incredible programmers, skinners, modders and de-buggers in this community.

seeing, reading and listening to these threads has bummed me totally!! Are we settling for an incomplete game?
Just for the allmightly dollar? if the sh4 sim isn't right Than by golly the leaders here need to say so!!! In my opion looks like sh4 was throw together with loads either left out copied from sh3-or- the attitude of (Let someone else fix that)) has anyone tryed mulitplayer? because it sounds like single player is a diaster to me! Personally I hope not because we need great sub sims!! I don't own the game so its really hard to say BUT IF YOU DO OWN IT and are unhappy please say so!!! not just because you shelled out 50$ and defending that it was worth it..Is sh4 a sub SIMULATOR or a GAME?

I'm shelving it. Not worth the headaches. I don't think it's right for Ubisoft to use paying customers as beta testers and to use community vulunteer modders to fix and finish their unfinished and buggy product. Hopefully someday UBI will actually finish the game with a few patches. I'm going back to playing War in the Pacific. Now that's the game of all games. Excellent patch support, too.

Why not ask for a balanced opinion? If all you want to hear is negative stuff then that's all you'll hear. Sounds like you already made up your mind to not like it.

There is not a game made that does not have some problems at release. If SH3 is used as a guide, we should see the 1st patch in the next 30-60 days. Is it frustrating.... yeah but I feel most problems that we are seeing now will be resolved in short order. To many talented people here to let this die on the vine.

I can understand problems, etc with games; with the complexity of games nowadays, bugs can creep into the game, but right now there are several bugs which make the game hard to play
1.) Metric! How am I supposed to remember the crush depth of my boats when everything I have lists them in feet, but the game uses metric?
2.) large amounts of missing functionality, compared to SH3; by this I mean being able to click on our officers, and then order them to do things like "plot torpedo solution" etc, "give me the range on nearest visual target". It also appears that clicking on the TBT on the bridge to bring it up doesn't work, only the "go to TBT" button at the bottom of the screen.

I can only say this. Sod off guys. If you bough the game, atleast give a good weeks play and not shelving it right away. I played SH3 for a lot of time, before I shelved it. Due to the experience this community has gotten in the last year, I'm sure we'll have the game running tip top in a short ammount of time.

It shouldn't be the job of community volunteer modders to fix broken or missing game features. That's what the developers are paid to do. Besides, we can't fix most of it anyways without the SDK.

Totally agree NV
Mods should be made to compliment the game
Extend its life
Change things
Add new additions
Its true a lot of modding was done in SH3 and still goes on to fix the unfinished parts
But to release a game hoping that modders will take up the slack isnt right at all
I have no doubt that Ubi will fix a some of these issues in patches
How soon and how many is anybodies guess
Most releases need fixes
GWX has had 2
But you would think that most of the posted problems would have been picked up at beta testing
If they were and not fixed :arrgh!:
As soon as I get it I'mma play it till i'm bored to death (prob in 2-3 weeks par usual gaming)

I think the big software companies count on the modders to finish the game for them.:nope:

I'm not certain that's true. SH3 certainly had its problems. Oh, brother, did it ever. But I don't remember seeing lists of bugs and lack of functionality as bad as these being listed now?

Snakeeyes, why don't you just shelve it then? Is it necessary to make emo posts about it on the boards?

The problem are if casual players or recent subsimmers could abandon the game in a shelve and blame it of bugs, low performance, and unfinished features.
Other problem is with bugs with the last patch released , some could be impossible to fix using mods.
i think that dev team have to work very hard in patches .
i´m going to buy the game but i don´t want to play until 3 or more months when all serious bugs are fixed. while i want to play a lot with sh3 and gwx .
