Been reading a few posts on eye candy and lack of immersion, but is it really that way? If it is, it's starting to scare me. Lots of game companies putting out nothing but eye candy with HDR this and Motion blur that. I know they want to appeal to a larger market but what's wrong with a small niche for simmers? I mean UBI or any other company wouldn't go broke if they targetted 1 out of every 20 games towards a smaller market.. Sure, we all love eye candy and most of us are looking forward to the added visuals in this game but not at the expense of immersion and game play innovation. This is why the WII in the console wars is wiping the floor with the PS3. People starting to realize that it's no just about better graphics.
The same thing is happening in the simracing world. I hate how today's generation is poisoning PC gaming and forcing game companies to focus purely on games that require no thought. I'm sure this doesn't apply to SHIV, at least I hope not but until I get the game I felt the need to vent a little.
