Encountered a big convoy of ~12 ships, no super biggies in it but some tankers and c3's at least. Shallow water ~50 metres , morning and calm seas.

I position my boat between the escorts in a 90 degrees angle and waiting fo rthe ships to pass. I've got plenty of time to adjust the TDC (set everything to magnetic, locked already the aob and speed of the convoy - 7 kt).

As the ships approach I raise the periscope - tube 1 +3 are sent to the t3 tanker which looks like it is farthest away and most to the right. Tube 2 is sent to the stern section of a c3 to kill his engines, the last tube 4 is sent to the closest ship to me a c2.

The tanker got hit twice - and explodes in a storm of fire, then the next torpedos arrive and hit the c3 badly, its coming to a stop and will probably sink soon.

the last torpdo misses it's intended target but hits a ship behind instead - unfortunately an american ship which seems to be neutral. Although damaged it seems to hold course and speed.

Now the fatal mistake, I was changing course to get away from the convoy, go to 45 metres and order silent running. Unfortunately i set a waypoint to my destination. Speed goes up to "standard speed" for short time.
Only a few minutes later I realize because of the nois I have been spotted and escorts are coming to me.

I can evade the first depth charge without damage, order ahead flank to hide in the convoy but I cannot reach it anymore, the second attack run hits my boat. Probably o all of them exploded close to the boat. -- Flooding in all compartments, sonar and hydrophone personel dead. Critical situation in the front torpedo room.

My boats falls like a stone to the ground. A last effort to survive this, i order to disable silent running, turn of engines and concentrate on repairing the front torpedo room.

After ~2:00 the compartment is completely filled with water and everyone in there is destinied to die as the hatches cannot be opened. I just have time to finish this report before we all....

i probably bored her to death telling her the story ;)

Nah, in fact I reloaded the game *sigh* and remedied the Navigational error!

I attacked the convoy another time about 150 km later and sank another ship. NOw iam heading back home - one torpedo left because I wasn t able to reload it.

But now that I died Iam a bit disappointed and dunno if i should start over.

It762; There must have been a long long line at Kaleun pearly gates.
Kaleuns who die at sea get a choice you see, return to patrol or get turned into a kitten and go to kitten heaven.

Here's proof even (http://huntny.us/images/1luckykit.jpg).
