View Full Version : Refueling at Vigo

Have been using GWX enhancement of SH3 for awhile and now need to use the Vigo base for provisioning. Haven't done that before. Do you Save and Exit after entering Vigo harbor and chose "Dock at Vigo" (if that choice exists?). Then reload using the Career option for the active Kaleun and find that your fuel is now topped off? Can one refuel at W'haven and then proceed to Kiel, should that be needed before entering the Kiel canal? Am familiar with refueling in flight sim programs, but not here. And don't want to lose the data from a (so far) successful patrol.

Docking at any other friendly port or a milkcow\resupply will end your current patrol I'm afraid
Press esc
End mission
Dock at *****
Not much point docking at Wilhemshaven if going to Kiel
If you are using SH3 commander 2.6 and above it will recognise you are at a resupply and set days in port to 1 instead of the usual 28

Yeah its the only slight down side IMHO would be good if you could just siddle up to the milk cow do the RAS and head back to base or go get more tonnage:up:

Damn I never realized that till now. That explains a whole lot of things when I did it.

The latest SH3C can change the amount of days to a pre set amoun tor a randaom amout mate. Also if you use a mil cow when you un dock it gives you a null patrol area and you have to go back to your base to get another mish i'm sure the guys at GWX are workign on summit:up:

Rats! Well, at least I have enough fuel to get back to Kiel. However, although for some tiime I have used SH3 Commander OK before with GWX, I now cannot get it to work with GWX (standard GWX version...not v 1.02 or whatever). Before you tell me, yes, I used Cmdr V2.7 and uploaded and installed the GWX upgrade of SH3 Cmdr specifically for GWX. I have installed and totally uninstalled SH3 multiple times to try to get it to work: GWX opens, but when I start a patrol, it gets to about 90% of fully loaded and then hangs up completely. When I uninstall SH3 Cmdr everything works fine.
As far as the refuel situation is concerned: why do we get a message that a supply ship is available in Vigo, if it can't supply anything but delay?
And (then I'll shut up) I have noticed that not one gauge in the type VIIB is accurate, from clock, to depth gauge, to oxygen gauge, to compass etc in the control room.

What i would suggest mate is go to the SH3 mods section and go to the GWX section and ask the guys who created it all the pertenate questions there a grewat bunch and i would assume more than happy to answer them me im a IXB wild child:up:
You can use SH3Patrol ver 1.5 (if I remember). It set days spend in base value to 1 and by this tool you can enter patrol area and null value will be canceled.

so what ur saying is if i go to the area that i was assigned to patrol the null will be canceled and the objectives will return

no once you dock with a milk cow your objective patrol area becomes NULL and you have to return to say Lorient for arguing sake where you will just be issued with another mission so thats a no on that one:yep:

That's realistic, actually. The 'Cows' didn't carry enough fuel or torpedoes to completely restock a u-boat; just enough to ensure they could get home safely.
