I'm not going to get mine for a week yet, and I'm really curious about this, especially as it's been really kept secret. This comment really worries me:
"In SH4 you really do not get the feeling that you are the captain. Lack of captains quarters. Icons of stations instead of the crew. If i remember correctly I could interact with the crew in SH3 by clicking on them, they would turn around. I could take the crews position also. In SH4 it none of those 2 are possible. At least not as far as I know. Feels little bit more arcadish." -- BR Anders
We had 11 different stations or spaces in SH3, where you could stand, look around, interact, and immerse in the boat. How many do we have in SH4 and what are they?

It only mentions the 2 main compartments and says there is at least one instrument interface. It does not mention any modeled interior stations/spaces in either the control room or conning tower. I'm sure there are more, but no one will say. For example, in the control room of SH3 we had 5 spaces modeled where you could stand, look around, and interact with the boat: forward control room, aft control room, diving officer's station, weapons officer's station, and navigator's station. After all, we are going to spend most if not all our time in the boat, because, hopefully, we will be in contact with the enemy most of the time!
Would really like to see confirmation on this from one of the lucky few.
I just started a career and there is only two sections I can goto on the sub and a single subsection you can get to by pressing F8 and clicking away (it's an instrument panel). I've not had a chance the 'play' the game so to speak so that's why I can't be detailed.
I also noticed that you can't click on your men directly, and heard this elsewhere - but when I started a scenario I clicked my captain accidentally and it did the whole looking at you animation (just no ability to interact).
Strange!
It's going to require some testing to really know where we stand but it defintely doesn't appear to have more than 2 areas, and 3 camera points from my first playtest. Don't hold me to that though because as I say; still toying.
You can't click on them and move them around or do anything, they are just zombies, if you click on them you assume their position, nothing else. They don't talk, just occasionally re-grease their hair. I was very dissapointed with it in that regards.
Got to be the least voice-overing of any subsim since pre-1995

That is exactly how it is in SH3. SH4 was expected to work the same way, and it sounds like it does. How many crewmen can you step into the shoes of and take their station? How many stations are modeled in the control room and in the conning tower?
It looks like the main steering postion in the tower is not manned, but the auxilary helm in the control room is. Is that correct?
How many crew show up in the control room and how many in the tower? It sure likes like you can have crowd up on deck.
