Got it from my buddy at ebgames, yup, I know, before it hits the stores, crap happens.

Just wanted to say, the screens you guys see? Ya, they were not photoshoped like I thought, REALLY amazing effects, the 1 major failing is there is NO AA, I have tryed everything I can think of and I cant get AA to work.

But I will admit, as a graphics artist, I am really impressed with the filters, I can just spend HOURS looking at how pretty this game is, to bad its impossible to play, I dotn like reading manuals adn for the life of me I cant figure out how to fire torps rigth lol.... aw well. this game tho.. its going to to be a 5 star game easy, the grahpics are AMAZING.

Hopefully we will have a AA patch soon

However, they just popped by my desk with a parcel, lo and behold

I checked at Best Buy and they told me it was not supposed to release until the 23rd but the guy I talked to said if it was to be on the shelves the 23rd they would have it in thier back room already so there must have been a delay of some kind.

Yes and no.

Companies ship product such as this and movies as an example - with a display date on the box. The merchandise is not to be displayed for sale prior to that date. If it is found to be sold the retailer may lose their ability to recieve any more merchandise from those companies.

So yes they miss sales but they also are protecting sales now and in the future. Disney is big on this as is Warner Brothers so I can see UBI doing this also. The game was to be avaliable at the local Game Stop I reserved a copy at and low and behold they have not receive it yet. It may be that UBI wanted to ensure that the preorder through mail customers received theirs first.

I do not know the particulars of SHIV and display date but this could be the reason Best Buy will not sell before Friday.

I picked up Silent Hunter 4 Today. I didn't get the Super Deluxe Edition, although the one I got has bonus materials. Included is a bonus DVD a really sharp map, recognition chart, a real paperback manual & a keyboard chart. I'm very happy with my purchase.
I bought it at my local Gamestop here in Massapequa Long Island. As soon as I finish doing whatever my Wife has in store for me I'm installing & playing.

But I don't think it is going to be installed for some time, at least till the game becomes more stable. Just to many problems for me to want to deal with at this time.. My collector's edition is no where to be found after ubi.com sent is via some guy on a boat instead of FedEx like I paid out the a-- for.

And I can't find any stores here in Atlanta that have it in stock and I absolutely refuse to pay full price for a download game. :(

I'm now a happy captain at the moment. -Update: Lennox Square had 1 copy left after checking 8 stores around the area. YAY!!!

I don't care about arm patches, medals or coins or even the fancy metal box but I do want all of the manuals and information that is shown. Does this all come in the regular edition with bonus material?

Got the SH IV Collectors Edition yesterday. The extra stuff is pretty useless, but flicking through the recognition manual during installation was a nice distraction.

I am from Singapore and I pre-ordered the UK Deluxe edition.

My copy is 2123 of 3000.

Cargo labels show it shipped from France to UK then onward to Singapore.

Shipping charges added by Ubisoft.com - Arrived on 22 Mar, my family signed for the parcel and I found it like a Christmas present waiting for me at the table.

You know, I would rather they add a scale model of a US sub or something for the Deluxe edition rather than some armpatch (for boyscouts?) or coin. The pen + note book, blah. What was I thinking? Those numbers printed at the side of the tin box could be have been printed with the actual number you got.

Yeah, right after I posted the delivery guy came back with the mousepad which had apparantly fallen out of the parcel.

So yay!, everything is as it should be.

Edit: also a pity that "tonnage" is spelled "tonage" on every page of the Recognition Manual describing a ship and that "Germans" and "Nazis" are both used. What's even more odd is that the timeline ends in May 1945.

Ordered the Collectors Edition (no. 1370) on 3/16...arrived via DHL today

I noticed one thing...The Pacific Theatre map is about 1/3 smaller in the Collectors Edition than the regular retail copy.

(I know because my impatience got the better of me and I went and purchased a regular retail copy at a local EB Games store)
