West Coast/Subsim SH4 party

The official subsim (West Coast Branch) SH4 release party will be held @ the USS Pampanito on Monday the 19th :rock: .

We will be seeing the Pampanito, SS Jerimiah O'Brien, and the USS Hortnet (?). First person to show up, wins an autographed copy of "The Almananc" (you know the one;) ). If you're interested in attending, send me a PM so I can send you my cell-phone number and work out the details. If you want pix of something, send me a PM and tell me what you want, as I will have 3 gigs of memory for my camera.
Skip work and come down to the wharf and party with fellow subsimmers. Also featured, photos of the first "Drebbel Incident at the Cavalla" Re-enactment.:rotfl: :huh:

Sounds like it will be a great day! :up: Sure wish I could be there! :cry: Do me a BIG favor please? The gentleman with the beard (I think his name was Tony) is a docent on the Pampanito and did a wonderful job when my wife and I visited the boat during Fleet Week last year. As we went through the boat Tony soon realized my interest and knowledge level went far beyond the normal tourist visiting a war memorial. So when we were about to leave I mentioned that it was unfortunate, but understandable for safety reasons that the conning tower was off limits. Tony then bent a few rules and gave me a personal tour of the conning tower! Anyway, the whole point of this little story is to ask you, if you happen to run into to Tony please tell him that the old Army guy from North Carolina that he showed around the conning tower will never forget his experience on the Pampanito!

Aw man, I was just there at GDC... I arrived early on Tuesday (show started Wed) and visited the sub, there was no one there but some guys tending the boat and I had a great time talking with them. They told me all about their salvage operations to restore the boat... Notice the water line, and how they patched a hole so it sets higher on the water.

Anyway, the guys were great and let us on the boat for free, showed us the conning tower and let us on the look out... Truely a great experiance. Afterwords I donated $40 since it was better than disneyland.
