Of course I dont, really.
But you buggers have gotten me into American Football, which I'd always said was rugby for sissies.
Who are your favourite teams, out of interest? I'm still looking for a team to support :rotfl:

Lol, my viewpoint has been for a long time, whether it's rugby, football (soccer), American football, Canadian football: if you enjoy the sport, it's all good. I prefer NFL but a lot of that is because I grew up with it. I do watch soccer when the World Cup rolls around and comparing one sport to another is apples and oranges. They all involve skill and competition. I smile when someone says American football is for sissies, obviously they never played it. :)
I'm sure you know my fav team, the Indianap...., er, Oakland Raiders! Don't support them, though, unless you are a masochist! :rotfl:

I really, really like college football. The players do it for love of the game. I live in the Denver area and these people are freaks when it comes to football. Some cities in the metro area have to put more police on duty when the Broncos loose. They beat their wives, kick the dog and generally make fools of themselves when their beloved broncos loose. They call themselves fans but they are something else.

My favorite NFL team is the Washington Redskins, who every year look great on paper but play terribly. Now how do you feel about NASCAR? You have road races and our drives just go in a big circle. On a side note thos vehicles only turn to the left. www.nascar.com (http://www.nascar.com) hope you enjoy, I sure do. GO MARK MARTIN!!!!! he drives the 01 car for the ARMY.
Look no further than the CHICAGO BEARS!!!

With a history that stretches back to the very beginning of the NFL, more hall of famers than any other team, and an old school physical style of play, the Bears are the best. A great team to root for if you're willing to put up with long periods of heartbreak tempered by short bursts of unimaginable happiness.
Oh yeah, and they play in a real football city, outdoors in bad weather and on GRASS. Yeah, I'm still bitter towards Indy...

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'll just watch all I can and play Madden 2007 till I settle down. I have to say though, I love the Vikings' logo. And the Seahawks :arrgh!:

I think you'll find Americans are biased toward their favorite teams. There isn't a lot of objectivity when it comes down to it.
Being biased toward a team is part of the fun, though.
I'm American and hate all sports. :shifty: Well nascar I can at least stand for more then 5 seconds....

I grew up in the East Bay in the 60's so it's the once & future Oakland Raiders here. Saw them lose to Green Bay in Super Bowl 2 on TV. Was in the Med when we beat Minnesota in 77 & worked in Oakland when we won in 80 & 84. Met Jim Plunkett at Marine World one day. How far the mighty have fallen. First round draft pick<shudder>.
I heard they were bringing back Art Shell as coach but here in minor league ville it's not such a big deal. I actually was at the snow game in Denver in, I believe, 1995 when the hated Denver Broncos skunked us. I was one of the few to wear Silver & Black in Mile High that night so the crowd wanted to kill...me. Then I reminded them of the 65 tons of weapons grade uranium & plutonium sitting over there at Rocky Flats & they left me alone.
I actually would have thought Uncle Neal would have gone for Dante Pastorini & the Houston Oilers. As far as the Raiders sucking goes, the biggest mistake Al Davis made when he moved to LA was not calling them the Watts Raiders. Think about it. The Collosseum is on the north side of Watts & Watts & Oakland are both predominantly black working-class towns. Has Al called them the Watts Raiders, they would have sold out the collosseum every year & it would have been truly dangerous for opposing fans to show up for a game.
