I'm interested in seeing what version of the game people will buy. Please post any feedback on which version and why.
Whatever version comes with the Ubisoft pre-order.
I don't really care about extra stuff.

You guys are quick off the mark!
I'm getting the collector's edition, as it's the best Australia can get for the money. The Delux ed. just cost too much to ship to Australia.
Well I have to get a computer first...

The preorder version from UBI. From what I understand, it will have some "extra" stuff - which will be nice!!:D
1) Download version, from Ubi (no extras there :-?)
2) Special Edition, from EB games or another local game store by the end of March
(I want two copies to have one to share with my brother, and it gives me the excuse of getting one downloaded so I don't have to wait for it to ship :p)

I preordered from ubi\us 2-10-07 what was called deluxe edition that is supposed to have extras for a limited time till they run out for $61.10. If it turns out to be the plain jane one I'll let American Express deal with it.
They have buyer protection for their cardholders.

U.S. Collectors. I'd like the UK Deluxe, but It's too pricey for my taste.

Yeah, what is it, about $150 or thereabouts with shipping?

As I heard it there are 3 Editions WORLDWIDE.
1. standard sold at stores at release.
2.deluxe sold at preorder with extras ubi\usa
3.collectors sold at preorder with tin box ect. ubi\uk only. Not able to preorder in USA.

Whatever version it is that Amazon is selling...which I suspect is the garden variety version. (Least Subsim should make a little off the sale)
i went with the uk collectors, mainly because it was the same price in amazon as the standard one:smug:

Same here.... problem is i think i also ordered the Ubi store super commodore tin box edition as well but i cant check my email to cancel :rotfl:
Pre-ordered the Deluxe and the standard version :)
I wanted the subdocumentary in the deluxe version.
In UK the standard version is priced higher than the collectors edition (strangely) so i'll be getting the collectors edition. I was going to get it anyway cos of the recognition manual.
I remember the days when sims had big chunky wadges of information about the inside game. Bought ARMA the other day. A soldier sim they call it. The manual looked like an unfinished after thought.
Bought Longbow 2 back in the days of windows 95, got a flight manual that i still havn't finished reading to this day. Plus it only cost me 30 quid. Didn't need the collectors edition back then to get your money's worth.

While I would love to have the printed ID book and other goodies, I'll have to satisfy myself with whatever I can afford, and that includes computer upgrades as well, so it's the regular version for me.

Good Morning Sailor Steve. I just got a new laser printer so I'll print up the extra Doc's and send in mail. Sorry can't help with upgrades unless you want a fx5600 vid card. Thats the area I had to upgrade. And i don't think that will be any help to you. Btw a little ot but how goes the battle?
Hope alls well with you.

Quite well, thank you. As for printed ID manuals, it's the thought of having one of their "official" ones. I don't really need one to play the game; I'm sure the in-game one will be the one to use no matter what. Thanks, though.
Just bought the Standard version from Amazon thru the subsim link to own a hard copy but I plan to download the downloadable version to play...... (nope, no brother... just me) lol

I'm getting the collectors edition, a couple of reasons for it 1) more candy for the simmer than the vanilla version, 2) pretty easy to obtain in DK
Now all I need is to get my PC back in working order.
Cheers

Ok, stupid question........How do you know which version you are getting? On Amazon and Ubisoft site I'm not seeing any significant difference in price. And when you go to order it, there is no option for standard, deluxe, collector's, etc.:hmm:

Collector's edition.
It's only $8 more than the normal edition where I live in.
The deluxe edition is way too expensive after conversion from GBP.

I wonder if there will be a Apple IIe version coming out?:hmm: I wonder what the disk requirements would be!
I remember when there was a poll or question that was asked about what content would you like to see in deluxe addition or rather would you be interested in a deluxe addition of Silent Hunter
I did say I would, and I only whish that they did that for SH3 too, which is still a great game by the way!!!! and will continue to be for a long, long time.
So yes, I am getting the deluxe addition
Can't wait, but is hasn't been posted yet :(

Other than few a things Ie the coins etc the diffrence between the collecters ed wich i am gettin and the deluxe IMHO is not really worth the 50 GBP i would rather buy the game and have the 25 quid to get somethig like the subsim almanac and a decent book about WW2:up:

Only 194 of the DE version of SH4 still left.
I can only wish and pray that I win one as the cost of buying and shipping to Australia ($158) is a little out of the price range:cry:
I guess my CE Version will have to do, I don't need a new mouse mat!:yep:
