As I recall the US Diving Alarm was different from the German One.. While the Germans used a ringing alarm bell, US Subs had more of an "ahhhhhoooogaaaa, Dive Dive! " sound.
Anyone heard this in any of the previews? If not hopefully it can be modded.

You're thinking of the klaxon horn. I too hope its included, theres nothing that sounds quite like it.
Just for fun, I found it in a wav file.

Didn't they sound the alarm twice for dives and three times for surfacing?

I have one on the boat. I love to sound it off twice while leaving the dock. Startles folks every time, except the old salts, who chuckle.

Definatly worth trying, if it doesnt make her smile I think thats grounds for a divorce. A good wife should always get involved with your hobbies IMO.

I hope the sound suite in-general in SHIV has been vastly improved over the last incarnation.
Never really bothered me with my 2.1 speaker setup, and sounded fine, but after I upgraded to a mid/high range 5.1 speaker setup SHIII sounds utterly terrible.
All of my other games run well on true surround sound and I even hear sounds I never knew where there before.
