I recently finished a piece of music that I based on Miami Vice. (The series, not the crappy movie) I hope I did Jan Hammer justice :P Have a listen and see what you think :)

It's not bad. Watch for your hi-hat pattern change into your second section. You are going from the 'a' of your 16th-note pattern and abruptly change to the 1-e of the sequence. A small, inobtrusive fill could alleviate the slight jarring effect of the transition. Remember, a lot of these guys writing for 80's TV were all about the slick packaging. They always covered their changes.

If you don't mind me asking, what school do you attend? What do you want to do with your music?

Honestly?

The basic score is fine, but the sound fx, the hoooshing sound etc, is interfering too much, I would replace it with a parallel melody that is aggressively pushing while overlaying the basic score (that I would understand - due to it's somewhat monotonous nature - as the background score). I was wondering if these hooooshing sound fx's were intentional, or a technical problem during download. Good basic work , but room for improvement . Just my honest 2 cents.

Thanks :D The hooshing sound wasnt intentional, no. Alas, it is the product of having to hack my poor Sigma Tel audio with ASIO Drivers to decrease the latency (I was getting 300+ ms before :rotfl:)

@ Takeda -

I go to John Kyrle High School, but I dont study music. I just make things like that in my spare time as a way to relax, and sort of pay homage to those I look up to, like Jan Hammer and Kraftwerk.

Thanks for your comments, you guys, they're much appreciated
