The Murmansk convoys in the Arctic. Vicious weather, absolute hatred between two irreconcilable political philosophies, no quarter given under any circumstance, a test of both man and machine.
It doesn't get any better than that....

Cheers,
it cant be lonely
either you die from a plane,DD,whatever the enemy has with DC's or cannons
or you die because you dive too deep but the crew will be there too
so it cant be lonely:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Same here the convoy's take you by surprise, two I can mention one was a small one made up of only larger tankers but they were all neutral. The second one was made up of ten destroyers, lucky for me the weather was bad.

I personally never leave the Atlantic or North sea... my type VIIB has problems going anywhere else...
A patch of sea where the merchies are plentiful, unsuspecting and unarmed. Where the escorts get their screws fouled in Saragasso weed. :smug:
I go where I'm told.

One for the Med:up:
But west of the Rockals is another favorite. Have never been south of Kap Verde and has been to the Caribbeans only twice, was sunk on the way home. Still so many places to go:up:

I was a hard choice between Noeth Atlantic and the Med. I chose the Med.(coin toss:roll: )
No Arctic :shifty: (And no, North Sea is not the same) so I voted for the Mediterranean. After all, I can see it from my window :smug:

Where the convoys are.
Most of the time though, after I'm based out of France, I almost never make it much south of Casablanca or west of Madeira. Hit one good convoy, and I'm dry.
Off the Canadian coast, lots of tanker traffic.

Im partial to the north and south inlets of the St. George's canal... lots of choke points in there for merchants and warships alike.
as the war progresses my search area just expands to slightly deeper waters.

You have got to love loading up in Grid BF1x and 4x early on. And the convoys later on AM4x and 2x. Keep sinking large.
