I am having problems with SH3 Grey Wolves, please help!
I used to be able to sink destroyers with torpedos, now I can not.
I once sunk 9 destroyers on one mission.
Now I can hit a destroyer many times and either the torpedo will not go
Off or it will go straight through the ship and not go off, I have set the depth
correctly!
Often ships sunk will not be displayed on captains log book.
Sending me on patrols with a blank patrol order.
Not being able to view medals, or desk log.
Please help.

In Grey Wolves there are a couple of destroyers that are skimming the water,if you take a close look they are litrally out of the water you can see there props what I found out is if you set the torpedo to magnetic and a depth of 0 that will take care of them.

And why do you want to hunt destroyers in the first place? Its not your mission, your mission is to hunt merchant ships, you shouldnt waste torpedoes with destroyers. And by the way welcome aboard  .
dont hunt DD's (Destroyers) its a bad idea..go for the merchants
and welcome to subsim m8:up:

I begrudge they are right hunting dd's of limited value.
Hunting ASW frigates is more sporting.

Hans posted a question about using a certain mod, and looking to enjoy the game and play it as he wants to. Why would some feel it is nessesary to question him and discourage this, I don't get that.
If what andy posted is correct then I would suggest make your adjustments and go right on taking out DD's if the oppertunity presents itself. DD takes downs might not be much tonnage but it's awsome fun!

I heard that ubisoft will increase the price for SHIV....SHIII was made just to get people hooked...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The only thing that I can see explaining the DD problem is depth, only 1-2meters needed there.
The only thing I can see explainin the Log book, etc, problems is that you're not docked at your home base and have docked somewhere else perhaps?
If none of the above I'm affraid it sounds like a corrupt instal, and if I were you I'd redo the whole thing mate

I had to do a full install, but managed to loose a player, bummer as he had 350,000 tonns. In case you all dont know Hans-Urich Rudel was the most decorated soilder of Germany in WW2. Have a look on the web there is heaps about him. An amazing man!!
I only sink destroyers because I have to, they go nuts when I sneek up and attack a convoy. Usually I found it impossible to sneek up on a convoy, but after a new install, I attacked a convoy, and the destroyers just ignored me, hmm the seas were very rough, but still, before the new install I would have to wipe ouy all the destroyers to even get within 3000 Mt of a convoy, I will try to set the torpedo at zero and magnetic only. By the way Scarpa Flow always has good tonnage, I find it very funny, when destoyers manage to sink themselves. I had a good moment the other night when I attacked a convoy on the surface with the deck gun, lol I sunk destroyers with my deck gun, mind you I have set it to fire at one seconed intervals. Thanks again guys and girls. Hmm many women playing SH3?

he flew a Junkers Ju 87 (G-1) and a Fw 190 (focke-Wulf) and he got the Knight's cross with golden oak leaves, swords and diamonds

I have no doubt he was a great pilot but weren't some of these numbers for the Nazi aces inflated by their propaganda machine? Just wondering what the historical accuracy is behind these particular numbers...?

The huge number of ground targets is very possible.
Stuka is a plane designed for ground attack and ruddel use a special gun with armor piercing rounds

As far as my research tell me, Hans-Ulrich Rudel was never a card carrying member of the Nazi party. I could be wrong. One thing is certain he was not a criminal. Some historians believe that the Knights cross with golden oak leaves, swords and diamonds is the equivalent to 3 Victoria Cross’s and two Medals of Honour’s combined. Some say he was a typical Nazi officer.
See http://members.aol.com/ab763/rudel.htm
A note for my Israeli friends: Rudel's story is presented here because of his military exploits, and for no other reason. I do not seek to glorify or apologize for the atrocious crimes committed by the German political leadership against Europe's Jews and other religious and ethnic minorities from 1933-45. Hans Ulrich Rudel was not a member of the Nazi party, participated in no war crimes, did not go into hiding after the war, and was never even accused of any such activities by any organization or Nazi-hunter, including the Shin Bet.
Achievements:
According to official Luftwaffe figures in total, Rudel flew some 2,530 combat missions (a world record), during which he destroyed almost 2,000 ground targets (among them 519 tanks, 70 assault craft/landing boats, 150 self-propelled guns, 4 armoured trains and 800 other vehicles; as well as 9 planes (2 Il-2's and 7 fighters). He also sank a battleship, two cruisers and a destroyer. He was shot down or forced to land 32 times (several times behind enemy lines) but always managed to escape capture despite a 100,000 ruble bounty placed on his head by Stalin himself. He was also wounded five times and rescued six stranded aircrew from enemy territory. The vast majority of his missions were spent piloting the various models of the Junkers Ju 87, though by the end of the war he flew the ground-attack variant of the Fw 190.
He went on to become the most decorated serviceman of all the fighting arms of the German armed forces (the only person to become more highly decorated was Hermann Goering who was awarded the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross), earning by early 1945 the Wound Badge in Gold, the German Cross in Gold, the Pilots and Observer's Badge with Diamonds, the Close Combat Clasp with 2000 sorties in Diamonds, and the only holder of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds (the highest ace of World War II Erich Hartmann also held the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds — but not in gold). He was also promoted to Oberst at this time.[3] He was the only foreigner to be honored with Hungary`s highest decoration, the Golden Medal for Bravery.
Any way guys the only reason I use his name, is for the fun of it.
