New Zealand Win the World Cup!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I do think that it will be a more even match this time, with many teams could come and take it. I hope Australia wins, but I would also like to see some good matches.

Good Luck to all.

Can anyone explain this mystical sport?

Sure. It's a simple game that anyone can understand.

One team is in and one team is out. The team that is in must send two players out. The team that is not in will go out with them. The team that is in are not allowed to send someone in until someone else is out. When it’s your turn to be in you go out. Each team member goes in when the man before him is out. You know when you’re out because the umpire will stick his finger up at you. When you are in, you try to stay in, and the team that is out try to get you out so they can be in. When the whole team is out, the other team is allowed in. Both teams do this twice, unless one side decides to declare, in which case the team that is out is allowed back in again. This rule does not apply in the World Cup where you have to do it only once.
If it rains nobody is in, and usually the game is a draw.

One team is in and one team is out.
<snip>
.

Yes, i'd say that covers it! The only other thing to mention is that the team that are out, sometimes want to know how it is to be in. Shouting Howzzzzzthat???? at the umpire, who i'm sure doesn't know as he's neither out nor in.

Big news today! Ireland defeated Pakistan and Bangladesh beat India. The Pakistan defeat means they can't make the cut for the next round and India's loss puts thm in danger if they lose their next match.

Go the Paddy's!:D

Australia's odds must get a bit shorter with one of their main rivals from recent years out of the tournament.

Indeed they were good games.

As for Flintoff sack him that's what I say. All he wants to do is drink all day long get rid of him and give someone else the chance who wants to play cricket.

As for the rest of them who went out boozing do that one more time and sack them as well.

bigboywooly
03-18-07, 05:20 PM
Agreed Steed
Flintoff has been on a downward spiral since the Aussie tour here

Pity is that is he is still our best one day bowler

Still the boys did the business today
Not exactly a standout performance but a win is a win

Fielding was better too but still woefull at times
Meh

STEED
03-18-07, 06:32 PM
I just like to add a up date to my comment about Flintoff, I still feel he should be sacked and he must get help about his drinking and if he shows that he is cleaning up his act then let him back in to the team but on probation.

A dark shadow has fallen over the world cup. With the news of Bob Woolmer murder and the speculation of corruption cricket could be in the dock again.

Woolmer 'may have known' his murderer

Yes a sad week indeed

How can any sport warrant such an event

Is it a coincidence its the Pakistani team involved again :hmm:

STEED

I don't want to speculate too much until more information is at hand.

STEED
04-03-07, 01:14 PM
England better get there act together as they are up against Sri Lanka today and our old enemy's on Sunday the Australians.

Australia could win the world cup but there are two dark horses out there Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

STEED
04-05-07, 11:51 AM
We should had won against Sri Lanka. :nope:

Well it looks like any chance of getting in to the semi finals is bleak as we take on the kings of cricket this Sunday, Australia.

bigboywooly
04-05-07, 12:37 PM
Was a close call and I thought we may have done it but eh
Top order needs a good shake up
Why the hell is Vaughen still in ?

Talk about a slump

STEED
04-08-07, 05:01 AM
Well knock me down with a feather I did not see that one coming at all. Well done Bangladesh taking South Africa to the cleaners and throwing England a life line.

Here's to you Bangladesh. :()1:

I have to say was a pleasure to watch Ashraful bat
Some great strokes in that innings

A few more players like that and they could be a usefull team
Bowlers did well too

England seem to be making a decent fist of it today
So far
:rotfl:

Wow how have i missed this thread.
I so enjoyed the ashes thread.
Well am watching the England game today seems we are still having to endure the bating collapses. But if KP and Ravi can stay in till the end we might yet post a deffendable total.
What i will say is why oh why is Micheal V still keeping his place in the side is beond me his batting in this World cup has been nothing short of Useless. Keep Straus in the side and make him Capt and bring back Ed Joyce.

bigboywooly
04-08-07, 04:18 PM
Well Strauss didnt exactly light up the game

Looks like another Oz victory unless they suffer an England style collapse
Phah
Some hope
Edit

No they didnt

Looks like 3 wins out of 3 needed now to stay in

STEED
04-09-07, 05:07 AM
Hells Bells here we go again. :nope: Come on England you must win the next three games and have a good run rate to stand any chance of getting into the semi finals.

Next up on Wednesday the South Africa killers, Bangladesh. And they are riding the surf at the moment.

STEED
04-11-07, 04:30 PM
England's win over Bangladesh was a dreadful victory. :nope:

Ban: 143
Eng: 147-6

It may be job done but it is a poor showing.

mr chris
04-12-07, 03:15 AM
Will need a massive improvement when we play South Africa in the batting department.
Fingers crossed.:dead:

And fielding.

mr chris
04-12-07, 06:01 AM
True but are batting is in such bad shape. The only shining light this world cup has been KP even though he did have a bad day yesterday.
But the bowling and fielding does give you some sort of hope. Well sometimes:-?

STEED
04-18-07, 02:14 PM
England have been destroyed by South Africa and are out of the world cup, at first I said chop off there heads and put them on spikes outside traitors gate. Now I feel we need a new one day captain who thinks in todays thinking and attack is the order of the day. As for Fletcher the coach he should step down before the winter tour but remain in charge for this summers test series against West Indies who are coming to England.

Are one day cricket must be changed with a big shake up from the selectors to the captain.

Well for my money Australia are really looking good and in with a great chance to win the world cup, good luck to them.

mr chris
04-18-07, 02:37 PM
Steed did you see Bob willis and Beffy on Sky Sports 2 last night after the game.
What they had to say was spot on and to the point.
In my view these are the people that we need at the top of Cricket in England.
But if i was in charge i would try and learn as much as i we can from the Aussies.
If you cant beat them (and a fluke in the commonwealth series does not count.) Join them or learn from them. Something we have failed to do when i comes to ODI's.

STEED
04-18-07, 02:45 PM
The BBC commentator Agnus Fraser said it. England is playing a game that is 20 years out of date ands so is there thinking on ODI.

STEED
04-20-07, 07:51 AM
Fair well to Brian Lara who was a great batter and a great cricketer.

The ICC has made a real hash up of the tournament and they all should be sacked those toffee noised stuck up toss pots, what a sham ending to the final. The duc worth lewis run rate system is a joke and must be replaced.

Well done to Australia you are the king of kings. :D
