I was at Borders Bookstore here in Dallas and looked at the magazine rack and lo and behold a review of SH4.

The magazine did give the game a sterling review. You will need to buy it and read it.

Oh yeah, there were comparisons between SH3 and 4. SH 4 will be the better game.

That is all for now.

:D

Could we have at least a punchline from the review? What's their impression?

Yeah... some more info might be cool... any new juicy facts? What was the score?

Actually, it's a preview. Not a review, so there's no score (if we're talking about the April issue, that is).

Or is the May issue out already?

I used to be (and still buy regularly) a subscriber to PC Gamer and will whole heartedly encourage people to at least get into 1 PC games mag. There are so many games out there that i would never have come across if it hadn't been for the guys at pc gamer.

Check out "Soldat" for a bit of a quick blast while u wait. It's free, no subscription btw.

The next PC Gamer in the UK will be out on the 15th of March and i will be willing to post comments form the promised SH4 review within.

Before i do however, and possibly get myself and this community into a world of trouble, would someone knowledgeable be kind enough to either post here or PM me the rules and regulations regarding typing stuff up that exists in a published magazine. Preferably a moderator of these forums.

BTW, no reply, no post. I don't wanna risk anything silly especially seeing as the game will only be 8 days away when i have my next issue.

Over at http://www.pcgamer.com/inthisissue.html (http://www.pcgamer.com/inthisissue.html) Silent Hunter is not listed in the preview section. So are we sure it is in the march issue ?

I browsed the Apr 07 issue of PC Gamer in a localbookshop. It has a preview of SH4 by Andy Mahood. Generally the tone was quite positive.

I live in the UK

PC Gamer is sold in at least 7 different languages and each one of these has different material for different months. Now as it stands, I heard a while back that the US (i think) got a preview in their March issue. It would also appear that the US have also just got their latest issue and an SH4 review alongside it.
So please state where you are from when posting comments about this. (even if your avatar might already suggest something :p)
Unless you subscribe to PC Gamer (cos subscribers get it 2 days earlier), you shouldn't have this month's issue yet (the april edition / Issue 173).

Dutch sea lord, if you could still just post any info regarding what i mentioned above so that IF the review IS in pcg 173 UK then i can get posting right away.

bad news,

UK PCG does not have any sign of a SH4 review.

Don't worry, I'll be coming back ere with a full rundown on my impressions after Saturday. I'm going to try to snag some photos and stuff for Neal too.

I'm a professional writer. You can give snippets and such (sentence or part of paragraphs) in your review of their preview but no more than that. And you have to include date the preview was published, the name of the magazine, page numbers and author.
