Why must we recall him?

Couldn't we just leave him there as is?

Piece of garbage.

ROFL. :rotfl:

I shouldn't laugh at the poor guy but this cracked me up! Reports say he was able to identify himself to police only after a rubber ball had been removed from his mouth. Anyone else get the basement scene from Pulp Fiction flash through their minds when they read that comment?

However I really wish we could get over this kind puritanical thinking. "We're talking about behaviour that is unbecoming of a diplomat," she said.

So the guy likes it rough. Big deal? Consenting adults should be able do whatever pleases them with their own bodies. Would he have been recalled if Jerusalem had discovered he'd been working with Mosad to help plan assassinations of PLO sympathisers in El Salvador?

Make love, not war!:sunny:

Israel has recalled its ambassador to El Salvador after he was found drunk and naked apart from bondage gear. Reports say he was able to identify himself to police only after a rubber ball had been removed from his mouth.

:rotfl: Me thinks he had one to many...

Oh well hes only human:lol:

Edit:

Haaretz website reports that police found Mr Refael in the Israeli embassy compound where he had been found bound, gagged and naked apart from sado-masochistic sex accessories.

This sounds like a setup, probably upset someone so instead of taking him out lets ruin his career.

This kinda behavior is a MAJOR security breach. It makes blacmail easy and doesnt reflect good self control.
Maybe the Mossad did do it, to get him the hell out of there..:hmm:

I think you missed my point.

I believe he should be able to perform whatever kinds of sexual activities he pleases in his own time without it being the business of anyone else, thus negating any chance of blackmail. I know that isn't reality for most people of Judeo/Christian culture but I believe this needs to change. I think we need to get over these kinds "moral" issues.

He's not a "consenting adult" in general and abstract, he's a diplomat and must maintain a respectful image. He can't do whatever he wants without it being the business of anyone else, because he's a diplomat, a public employee. If he wants to be free to party, resign from a public job and its accountability.

I know two similar cases:

Two Peruvian congressmen that were caught partying at a nightclub in Brazil and are now waiting punishment by the Peruvian Congress ethics comission: http://journalperu.com/docs/Velasquez_Vega_SaoPaulo.pdf

While not recent, the Brazilian ambassador to Cuba which was a renowned partying host and guest that was sacked last year when his fame became unbearable for the government.

The people in highly visible roles dont have "own time/private life". The second you do something "different", in this case making your sexual life more interesting, the media will be all over your bondaged butt. :yep:
