Sorry if this is covered elsewhere as I did do a search to find it. I just ordered the Deluxe version of Silent Hunter 4 from the British site since I could not find it on the US site. My question is, will I be able to play this copy here in the US or will I have problems with it being ordered from overseas. (Feel so stupid for asking this). I've never ordered a game from overseas.

Nah, you should be right mate. PC software isn't region encoded like DVDs are, so you should be sweet.

Thanks Boris. I went and rechecked the site that deducted my payment, and saw this under the description...

Yeah, I ordered one too.

Interesting, I was actually just wondering how many were left. Should almost be all gone by now.

It's a non issue for the game DVD, though keep in mind the DVD documentary included with the Deluxe Edition is Region 2, not Region 1 (used by Canada, the US and US territories).

Yeah, good point... but there's always ways to get around that.

Just remember when Commanding your Subs in the British version, try to stay on the Left Side so you don't run into the U.S. subs on the Right side. ;)

Most DVD players have a factory region unlock/change code, which is a simply keyed in through the remote control. Unlock codes for the vast majority of DVD players are freely availabe online.

As for PC DVD drives, the region can be changed a limited number of times only. But software like DVD genie, or DVD region free may work to get around that. Otherwise, flashing the DVD drive firmware will reset the region settings, which can be done indefinitely and isn't difficult to do. Region free firmware is also freely available for most drives, which will unlock the drive for good.

I ordered one too. Had to have all the goodies. As well as 2 other copies since I do have 2 machines that will easily run it and still have one as a spare. Does that make me mental?:hmm: :shifty:

I ordered two Deluxe copies too, but I'll have to give away one to my friend no more than 3.2 seconds after I receive it or otherwise I'm sure I'll end up being his first primary target in SHIV.
