Ok you have to go to a site like photobucket or image shack

register

upload the pictures you want to your file their.

then it gives you code to copy and paste

for either thumbnail the picture itself or embedding code

then you just copy the img code you want and

paste it into your posts.

I know that probably seemed like a simple explanation but I still didnt understand, see Im totally unfamiliar with those procedures.Could you explain again as if you were talking to an idiot ()LOL

Mush Martin
03-12-07, 07:48 AM
I was! LOL

there are websites that host your images for online use.

PhotoBucket for example http://photobucket.com/

start a free acct.

read through how to upload off of your drive.

then read through how to copy an image onto

the forums from there

each picture you upload will have three little codes beside
it

for a full image use img type code copy the code and paste it
into your post on subsim save the post and the picture appears
in the post.

To go with what Mush is saying, also check out the link I posted, the very first post is an explanation on how to post scrennies. It is a bit of trial and error, the process, don't sweat it, give it a go and you will be fine:yep:

jpg jpeg png gif bmp tif tiff swf < 1.5 megabytes.

Instructions to take and post a Screenshot
1. Take screenshot by pressing CTRL+F11
2. Change the Screenshot to .jpg and resolution to 640x480
3. Go to www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us/) and host the image there
4. Copy the "Direct link to image" url
5. When you want to post it here, make it look like this:
"UrlOfTheImageYouCopied" whitout those " "

At imageshack when uploading you can customize the size of your pick on the upload, as mentioned above preferably 640 x 480:roll:. After uploading you will see a bunch of links, the one you want to copy and then paste is the " direct link to image ", then you come back to subsim, click on the insert image icon, paste your imageshack link and that's it.

You will see your pic in your message, if you don't then something is wrong, so don't post, otherwise you will have what you posted up top a bunch of times.
You will get this:yep:

Once you have the image on a host, use vb code.
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/misc.php?do=bbcode

Also an image that is .jpg 800x600 is generaly the norm. Off the top of my head I don't know if this form frowns on larger images. Jpg images also load faster then png images.

Click the small yellow box with mountains on it (above this text box when replying)

Into that, paste the link to the picture (which you're doing seperatly atm) it'll automatically generate the picture INSIDE the text box even before you're finished posting, so you know when it works :)

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/smartdark/insertimage.gif

Dunno how you did that, but it's something :)

What you'd do, is either:

1. Press that Icon
2. Paste the image location into the popup box (
//img413.imageshack.us/img413/5215/checkingforsurvivorsjpgbp9.png (http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/5215/checkingforsurvivorsjpgbp9.png))
3. Press OK
4. Admire the pic which will be displayed in the reply box :)

OR

1. Type
2. Paste the image location directly after it (//img413.imageshack.us/img413/5215/checkingforsurvivorsjpgbp9.png (http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/5215/checkingforsurvivorsjpgbp9.png))
3. type immediatly after it, no spaces
4. The forums should then generate the picture, if not you'll see:

//img413.imageshack.us/img413/5215/checkingforsurvivorsjpgbp9.pn (http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/5215/checkingforsurvivorsjpgbp9.png) (removed the "g" so that it doesn't generate the picture)

or a shortened one:

But then when quoting it comes up... gah!

"Aahhh look at us jim were a festival of conviviality"
Tim Curry in "a muppet treasure island"

larger pics on your thread will mean your thread will load
more slowly with each pic you post.

also there is a limit of five pics per post so if you
have ten its two posts.

when doing that its a good idea to get all your ducks in a row
and line up your images all first for posting.

MM

ReallyDedPoet

Finally when your out shooting screenies hit pause (backspace)
then hit F12 for free cam and then hit the del button on the bottom
of your number pad on your keyboard the one on the bottom right
not the one in the middle of the keys
this will remove dials and controls from view for better pics

also hitting either the , key or the . key will allow you to scroll
through all the chase cams of everyunit in sensor range.

if your in free cam on pause looking at something use ctrl button with
mouse to slide camera around.
